When you get to Peru, you should also visit the Amazon!

It was a three-day, two-night tour, but it was a very enjoyable time!
Crossing the Amazon River by boat felt really good, with lots of options for piranha fishing, night walks, jungle hiking, Monkey Park, swimming & mudpacking in the Amazon River, and more!
I really enjoyed all of these options, which are unique to Amazon!
Also, I was one woman and all around me was Spanish, but Sarai, a female guide, spoke English, which helped ^ ^
She was such a kind, easy to talk to and lovely person, and we only spent 3 days together, but we loved her!
I have very good memories of swimming in the Amazon River and watching the sunset together. They helped me when I was in trouble because of the cockroaches at the inn. All of the guides were very helpful and easy to talk to if you need help! I appreciate it.
(It's Amazon, so it's natural to have a lot of bugs! Insect repellent spray is required.)
The inn was a private room with three meals of rice. Free drinking water is also available. It was delicious, with drinks and rice unique to the Amazon!
The children at the inn were also cute and soothing. Amazon tour, great.

Unfulfilled promises and poor organization

The tour was disappointing due to poor organization and a lack of communication. Our guide was kind and did everything possible, but several of the activities promised by the owner did not take place. Overall, the experience could have been much better with better planning and communication.

We are sorry that we left this comment, but we must publicly clarify an important situation: we have not been able to identify any reservation, passenger record or evidence that would confirm that you have taken a tour with Canopy Tours Iquitos.
Therefore, we are surprised that claims are made about an experience that we cannot associate with any of our clients. We have reviewed our records and, so far, we have found no information to support what is stated in this review.
We have also detected on other occasions attempts to use negative comments and publications on the internet as a way to exert pressure or seek financial benefit from our company. We do not consider it right to use a review platform to deliberately damage the reputation of a business through experiences that cannot be verified.
At Canopy Tours Iquitos we take the opinions of our real passengers very seriously. When there is a problem, we are always willing to review it, take responsibility where appropriate, and find a solution.
If you actually took a tour with us, we invite you to provide us by private message with the date of your visit, name of the reservation or any proof of booking, so that we can verify the case and formally attend to it.
Our commitment continues to be to provide responsible, transparent and quality experiences to our visitors.

Jungle tour? many people may like it. I found it very disappointing

I was looking for Amazon jungle experience, walked by and ran into Hector at the office in Iquitor. I was given a fancy speach about the lodge, wild life, 2 hour drive to Nauta, followed by a 2 hour boat ride to the lodge and so on. Agreed on a 4 day 3 night tour and paid in advance. On the day of the tour - I was sent with another person and we ended up in Nanay port, not Nauta. Nanay is 5km from Iquitos and Nauta is 100km. I immediately questioned the guide, who called her boss Carlos. I talked to Carlos and questioned why I was brought to Nanay, he indicated it was a mistake and brought be back to the office and then to Nauta for the trip. (mistake?, I seriously doubt it). The boat traveled very slowly (hence the 2 hour ride) to the lodge. The lodge is located 15 km from Nauta.
The whole area is populated with native towns (with schools, stores, soccer fields....) it must have drive all wild life away. This is not the amazon jungle I imagined or advertised by tour companies.
By the way - search and read about a robbery incident with a tour goup organized by Canopy Tours that had taken place in May of 2025.

Meet the jungle

We had a great time exploring the Amazon jungle accompanied with the best guide ever - Julio. His passion and engagement help us understand and appreciate the jungle. We traveled by boat and saw lots of plants and their medical use. The food brought by Julio was delicious and we had it in the boat. Then he took us on fishing and I caught the first one in my life. We felt safe like in family, we’d like to thank all the team to have made our dreams.
