Good stay in Huancayo
Good location (close to supermaket, restaurants, 15 minutes walk from main square), clean room, clean washroom, hot shower, working wifi, very friendly staff. I would visit again! The only downside is thin walls and it can be a bit noisy. It wasn't unbearable and the combination of positives made up for the noise.

Good room, but the rest...
We stayed 2 nights. The double room was clean and have good space.
The Wi-Fi didn't work in a half of the room, so we have to stay near the door to be able to use it.
When we asked quation to the weekend receptionist, we felt that we disturbed him, not really helpful.
They offer reception 24h, but it was closed early in the morning (around 6am) and the front door was locked. There was a phone number on the door of the reception but it didn't work. We were unable to go out! We finally knock on the reception door and someone came. We didn't think we should tell them that we leave early because of the 24h, bad move..

Modern & clean
This hostel is quite new so benefits from being in good condition at time of our visit. The rooms are modern and clean. Good wifi and lots of hot water. Location is just off main road and is reasonably quiet at night but some traffic noise is heard. Location is ok, approx 1.5 km to walk to downtown area but there are some ok restaurants in the local vicinity and a large supermarket only 5 minutes walk away (toward town on the main road). Good value for money and most likely a better standard of accommodation than other options closer to the city centre (taxi rides are cheap).

Nice hostel in Huancayo Peru
It was a bit difficult for the taxi driver to find the place because there is no sign or banner visible, only a small label that says "hostal" above the doorbell, plus there is a similar address in another part of town, this place is in El Tambo. The facility appears to be new and still in construction and the rooms were quite nice and modern. The single room I got did not have a window, but there is no view anyway. The immediate surroundings are mostly automobile repair/industrial related, altho there is a retail business area and Mercado on Santa Isabel a few blocks away. Meals are not available and there does not appear to be any restaurants nearby, altho the main avenue is a few meters to the corner. The staff member spoke English fairly well and was knowledgeable about the city and its attractions, it seems he lives there and is present all the time. There was construction noise during the day until around 5PM. The room was very modern and up to date with a comfortable bed and flat screen TV, free wifi was available also. It is walking distance to the city center, for the adventurous, it may be a cheap taxi ride there and to the bus station on Ferrocarril. There was a minor problem with housekeeping and curiously the trash was not removed. More attention should be taken to clean the shower with its fancy white and silver tile work. I would stay there again and recommend the place, I felt safe and secure.

Clean and comfy
With not a lot of choices on a holiday weekend, I booked the Hostal Embajada Wanka. I had a small single room that was by far the cleanest I have stayed in. It was spotless. The room was small but modern and the bed very comfortable. Best of all, the management was vey helpful in helping me get around. Although it is not near the main square, it takes minutes in an inexpensive taxi. I have paid much more for some pretty grimy places closer to the square. Great value.
