Great Cusco stay

My family stayed there 3 nights. Excellent location. We had a very spacious Chichen Itza room with large windows. Clean and good bathroom. Comfortable beds.
Common space was very nice to spend time in when it was raining. Access to a common kitchen was a big plus.
Breakfast was basic local but good.
They were actually brewing coffee which is not common in Peru.
Staff were very helpful and nice.

Even if your life depends on it - do not stay at this hotel!!

Unfortunately it is not possible to give 0 stars or minus stars, but if we could we would!
Let me first start out by being fair and tell that we booked two nights at this place before trekking to Machu Picchu, and we thought it was alright and didnt cost much, so we booked five additional nights for when we came back - biggest mistake ever!
The room we got, when coming back was located near the street which meant a lot of noise! Especially because the neighbor hotel was throwing a party. Of course this is not Los Aticos fault, but we had been up since 3.30 in the morning and at midnight we went to the reception to ask for help, another room just something! Well no help to get here only the receptionist said “it’s not our hotel”…
Other than that the shower was dripping all night making a lot of noise and there was no curtains, so the sun woke us up at 5.15 - having almost had no sleep.
Other small things was it is almost mandatory to find disgusting dark hair in the breakfast and do NOT keep any food in the shared kitchen although they say it’ll be safe. We had our food taken although the receptionist said it would never happen.
As if the above mentioned things are not enough to convince you to not stay here, then let me tell you about the hotel owner. Never in my life have i met such a disrespectful woman! We had some of our clothes going to laundry because the hotel offers this service. When returned a lot of our clothes was damaged - total amount of 500$!
Several times she tried lying her way out of the situation by saying the bleach spots were there before (thank god for pictures - since we had just been trekking we had a lot of “evidence”). So when this didnt work she tried to say our clothes were fake (because it said “made in china” which almost all european clothes is). And when sitting down to try and find a solution she would not even admit them making a mistake, she walked away from the conversation saying she would call the police (because of course she know she wouldnt have to pay anything then). Other than that she called us young, spoiled and a lot of other words.
There are so many nice hotels in Cusco - you do not need or want to stay here. Our final days in Peru was absolutely ruined because of her and the way she handled the situation.
So we have done the lesson for the rest you, and now take our advice - DO NOT AT ANY COST book this hotel!
To end of on a good note i will say the receptionist, Edgar, was very kind and trying to find a solution. He should not suffer from her poor handling of the entire situation.

Basic accommodation, Friendly staff, near a few blocks from the main square

There is a breakfast area with bread, cheese, fruit, juice and coffee. A kitchen can be used by guests. Location is about 4 blocks walk from the main square. The owners are well respected in the city and will help arrange your tours to Machu Picchu and other places. Rooms range in size, and the ones on the top floor will be quieter.

good choice

Nice size rooms, plenty of blankets and portable heaters for the cold nights. Wonderful staff. You can hear other travelers coming and going all day and night. Breakfast was just OK.They do make eggs fresh to order.

A good enough place lacks warmth

The hostel is located in an alley at the heart of Cusco. No car access. Check in was good. The room was good. WiFi in order. Breakfast was good. The thing is that it lacks the spirit of other hostels. The staff is helpful but there is no warmth or welcoming in the way they interact with you. If you need a place for a night or two it is a good place for that.

Excellent location
