Nice little hotel in the highlands
Far from mass tourism a really nice little hotel with only a few rooms. The equipment is simple but cozy with stunning mountain views. Breakfast and dinner are served on the private terrace. You can book some tours. The hosts are very nice and take very good care of the guests. After the previous hotel it was really great that you could communicate in English. You should also have participated in the night hike. Clear recommendation!

Beautiful Property with difficult staff
We arrived around 6pm to find the electricity out because of winds and rain. Not the end of the world! Edwin had called our guide in late afternoon for an estimated time of our arrival because we were scheduled for a frog tour that evening. We had no idea of the conditions there because we didn't see rain until just before we got to the inn. Edwin wanted our breakfast order as we checked in and they had a nice selection for us to choose from. Our tour was at 9pm and he was leading it so we got checked in and grabbed a restaurant dinner to be ready on time. When we went on the tour it had been raining for the last couple days so it was really mucky and we had to cross streams. What he neglected to do was provide us with rubber boots leading us to soak our shoes during the tour. We were able to hose off our shoes when we returned and since the electricity was on and we could see in the rooms, that is when I noticed that they provide rubber boots. I feel he should have know the conditions of the trail and gotten boots for us when he took our breakfast orders. The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable. The bathroom towels were thin and rough, but they dry them on the line so it's understandable. There was no face cloth. The next day when I said they should have provided boots, the proprietress was snarky and provided boots for a hike in an area the had no standing water on the basis of "snakes". Clearly meant to make us believe we would need protection. We took the boots in case we needed them for future use but did not end up using since all other tours were not in the same environment as frogs prefer. The visit with the farm family was wonderful and they guided us to a couple of beautiful waterfalls. Hikes were sometimes over rough gravel but basically if you are in decent shape it's a picturesque walk. Breakfast was served on our lovely patio, except the one morning that had a huge downpour and we went to a more secure location. It was also the day we were checking out so we brought our luggage with us. We were quick with our breakfast and gathering our stuff and again the proprietress was snarky about our having spread out in a common area. I would have thought we'd have the space for at least a half hour but she was clearing and setting up for another breakfast and threw our items off the table to the ground with a huff. When I said "that's our stuff" she seemed a bit embarrassed by her behavior but did not apologize. Overall, the property is beautifully kept, the rooms nice but sparing, the staff do not look happy or interact with guests and I am thinking that the proprietress sets the mood overall. I think next time I'll try another establishment, even if it isn't as pretty a friendly attitude is much appreciated!

At the same time, it is important clarify a few points for future guests. Your visit was arranged through a third-party tour operator who traveled with you and organized and led your excursions, including the frog tour. We provided lodging and breakfast only. The guide you mention, Edwin, is not a member of our staff, and we were not informed of your evening activity in advance. We do provide tours and are well kniwn for them, but your agency did not contract us for your tours. We are not responsibke for them.. The first time boots were raised with us was the following morning at breakfast. . I was happy to offer you them for the rest of your stay free of charge. This was me simply trying to be helpful for a situation that your tour operator created.
We'd encourage you to share your feedback about the guided activities directly with your tour operator, as they were responsible for planning and equipping those experiences.
Regarding your morning of checkout, your transport to pick you up was late. I understand that delays can be stressful, and you were, of course, more than welcome to wait in the common area. But we do need to turn the space over for arriving guests and turn the breakfast area over for the next group. I am sorry if the way that was handled felt abrupt. That's not the experience we want anyone to leave with.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and we hope you'll find your way back to the region someday.

Highly recommend this Inn and their organized trips!
This Inn is amazing! Careful attention to details means that the showers have good water pressure, the rooms have ample hooks, plenty of outlets, spotless floors, comfortable chairs, and a stunning view off each balcony. The flowers and plants around the Inn are lovely. We took a coffee tour with Celestino, one of the owners, he is delightful. He answered all our questions patiently and also helped us plan our own adventure hiking the Toucan Trail. Celestino organized a 6-hour jungle hike for us with Edgar, and it was fantastic! The waterfalls in Santa Fe's jungle are worth the hard hike.

Small welcoming family-run hotel in a small inland mountain village.
My wife, daughter, and I stayed for Easter vacation in a peaceful setting in a small inland town in Panama. The breakfast and service were excellent.
