From the reviews I thought there was no elevator but actually there was one! So third floor was lovely. Yes a ship was blocking the fancy view but it was so cool to watch it pull away so we were lucky to see one but have it leave. Our room was renovated because it had nice phone chargers built into the wall by the bed which is awesome. No frills like I wish there was a little tiny fridge but it’s priced fine. Front desk wasn’t very friendly and didn’t offer the WiFi password so had to go back down to get it. Would make sense to have it on the key card or in the room. It’s as tiny town with not much to do but we loved the one night stay and breakfast was fine, nothing special but quite a spread. Shower felt great but water gets everywhere without a proper curtain but that’s typical design. I just feel bad leaving all these wet towels on the floor. Easy parking but I did notice it filled up quickly by evening so earlier arrival makes it smoother.

HORRIBLE BED

In doubt between two or three stars.
I have slept many weird places around the world. In a duvet storage room on a Tibetan yak farm. In a room above a pub in western Australia, with white lizzards running on the floor and sitting on the walls. In a "hotel tent room," also in Australia, with frogs living in the toilet. In very basic rooms on Chinese mountain farms. In dirty rooms at English pubs in the countryside. On the floor below tables, on tables and even stuffed into a bunk bed with another person in overcrowded Norwegian mountain cabins.
But never have I slept in a worse bed than in this hotel. The bed was small, but we knew that, so that's okay. What we didn't know was that the bed was originally one of those folding beds that are hanging on the wall. What on earth is a bed like that doing in an ordinary double room? There was a big and deep gap between the head end of the mattress - very uncomfortable and we had to fill ut up with our pillows. The other thing was the staffs that were sticking out from the bed. We ran our toes into them many times and my feet are still hurting. And finally we wondered if we should fear for the bed folding itself with us in it!
I give an extra star for the dinner, that was actually very good. But the menu was very small. And the breakfast was very basic.

Good hotel in a dream location

Good hotel in a beautiful location.
The rooms are spacious, quiet, with direct views of the fjord—a fairytale landscape!
The breakfast is good. Héctor, waiter, a 10 as a professional and as a person. He guided and helped us a lot.

Clean and large family room for a family of 4. The overall hotel was dated and a bit chaotic in its layout. However, the views were incredible and the breakfast was plentiful. Eidfjord was a nice home base to split up a drive from Stavanger to Bergen. The price was fair for the location and accomodations.

We booked a room with sea view and arrived to a cruise ship blocking our view and the passengers are able to look straight into the rooms. However when the ship left we had a remakable fjord view.
The dinner was amazing but the breakfast was lacking.
Be aware that this town has MANY tourists and will be crowded. Make sure to plan for it.
