Lovely quiet plave with wonderful view on the valley and mountains

Lovely family hotel with wonderful view on the valley and the mountains. Quiet place with excellent food and bar for a morning coffee. Everything was very clean. Great place to start a hike to the highest mountain of the area. We would recommend this place!

Best place to stay in Galicnik

We went to Galicnik to hike around. We stop by Babe I Dede to drink coffee and get details about hike around. Owner is super friendly and helpful. She provide most of details about village and activities around village. We do some hike and back to our hotel in Marvovo. Next morning we went to Galicnik and hike to medenica 2169 meter with our 19 month and 19 days boy. We start at 10:30 and head up to medenica. We reach summit at 16:00 and back to Baba I Dede at 18:30. We order our dinner 1 days in advance. Village pie and beans. It's typical vegetarians mesodenia food. It's really worth. Owner and her mom cook with there passion for food and love. We meet Marko and his cousin filip. Both are sportive and helpful person. We are planning to organise some hike next year for dut h group as a warm up trip for Everest base camp trek. It's family run business with a lots of love, passion about nature and humanity. Super flexible and friendly owner. We will be back with our hiker group next year.

Wonderful stay in the middle of the Bistra mountains

This here was one of the nicest stays we had in Macedonia. We arrived tired, thirsty and sweaty after hiking from Mavrovo to Galichnik. Even without prior reservation we were welcome with open arms.
The entire family running Baba I Dede is incredibly hospitable and friendly. The younger Generation also speaks good English. They are a great source for information about local culture and nearby hiking trails. The house itself is traditional Miyak architecture and Dede is one of the only people that stays in Galichnik year-round.
Our room in the guesthouse was spotlessly clean, spacious and had a wonderful sunset view. Beds are comfy, there’s plenty of wardrobe space and there’s a fridge / kettle in the room.
If you are here to go hiking, you’ll be straight on the hiking trail once you leave the house.
Food at the restaurant is pretty good too - definitely worth a stop if you are visiting Galichnik.

Very friendly family run mountain village guest house and restaurant

Enjoyed our stay here in this beautifully situated small family run guest House. Marco is a mountain guide and runs the business with his grandparents, they are all very friendly welcoming and helpful and Marco speaks good english. The rooms are basic but very clean and warm, happy to recommend a stay here.

Hiking holiday

Love this place! The setting is beautiful. This guesthouse is basic, but incredibly clean. The restaurant is full of warmth and charm. A lovely family business run by Baba, Dede and grandson Marco. A perfect getaway in the mountains for hiking. Marco is a hiking and mountain biking guide who knows the area well, and can help you with any adventures that you are keen to partake in. I recommend a stay at this friendly guesthouse.
