Very nice experience
We were with our dogs and that was perfect. The garden was fenced, so they could safely run free. In addition, the park is located in the middle of a beautiful hiking area on the Veluwe, with beautiful routes directly from the park. Ideal if you love nature and dogs.
Also the brasserie Luwe is definitely recommended. We had lunch and dinner there several times and each time the food was excellent. The staff are friendly, committed and make you feel really welcome.
If I have to mention one small minus, it is the many sting flies. Especially when you are relaxing in the hot tub, they are less cozy. But to be fair, there is not much the park can do about that.
All in all, Berkenrhode is a quiet, high-quality and luxurious holiday park where we have stayed with great pleasure. A place where we would undoubtedly come back.

Drive around this park with a big arch
- no beds made.
- air conditioning that could not cope due to missing batteries remote control. Air conditioning filters are completely closed with dust so the air you breathe is just harmful and smelly.
- garden a mud pool instead of grass.
- fence to the forest is barely open and I injured myself to get closed. Completely sagging causing the lock to clamp enormously.
- hot tub is in sight at the intersection of the hiking trails.
- hot tub environment is full of algae and leaves and the steps are completely green with algae which is life-threatening with getting in and out. There is also a screw sticking out at the step which is just not done.
Since the chatbot indicated that we would be approached the day after to try to get through the night but the beds are completely collapsed and not acceptable. There is no possible way to sleep on such bad beds and this was the last straw.
Second day (actually only the first full day at the park) a response to the beds that they have no solution because the delivery time of new mattresses is outside our booking and the complaint is closed again. No solution, no excuses just strength with your 200 euros a night loss and sleep but on the ground mentality.
We have despite having paid for 4 nights and given them the choice to give a solution had to leave as the bad night and the stress of the bad (no) service my migraines have become so severe that I could no longer stay here. Now instead of spending 5 days carefree enjoying a deserved and necessary vacation with migraines, I can lie down in bed and ask how this park intends to solve this in the first place.
We are going to demand our full payment back anyway and that will have to be the least that is offered as a solution here. You not only took our money but also a few days of fun, which makes you the worst park in the Netherlands in my eyes.
