Definately on the list for a 2nd visit!

A wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful authentic hotel. The owners are incredibly helpful and unfailingly cheerful. My sister and I had rooms on the ground floor, the beds are comfy and clean, the bathrooms perfect with good toiletries, lots of hot water and clean towels. Breakfast us classic continental and plenty to fuel you for the day. We really enjoyed this hotel in a great location

Poor communication. Hotel rooms not available due to renovation despite confirmed booking.

I booked a stay through booking.com in early July 2026. The booking has been confirmed, however, the hotel now appears to be unavailable a few days before the stay, because a renovation is underway. The hotel itself has not communicated about this in any way. The hotel cannot be reached by telephone on the general number and a mobile number from the booking is taken, but immediately hung up as soon as I indicate that I am calling about a hotel booking. In summary: very poor communication. That does not bode well for the service when the renovation is completed.

Declaration made: Paying, not staying overnight.

On Thursday 19 March 2026 I booked a hotel room via the website and paid €200. Received a booking confirmation by email.
However, the hotel turned out to be closed on arrival.
I have not been able to contact the hotel for weeks and have filed a fraud/scam report.

Very poor service from previous and current owner.

Had booked in July 2025. Booking was cancelled in February 2026 due to "system error Booking.com". Contact and rebooked with a commitment that price would be maintained but the booking price was €200 higher. In early April cancelled by hotel again "due to overbooking". Turns out the hotel is closed due to asbestos.

Unreliable hotel

Beware of unreliable reservations with De Doelen. We had a confirmed booking which we booked 3 months ahead of time to ensure we had hotel which met our needs. 2 weeks prior to our confirmed arrival date we received email informing us that the hotel was overbooked. At this late date we could not find a central location which met our needs. Do not trust this hotel to provide what they promise
