Great - with a beautiful view!

Together with my two children aged 8 and 9, I stayed in the Mess tent. I had booked a 6-person tent for 3 people, so we had plenty of space. The boys were allowed to choose their own bed. The decoration is colorful, we were happy about it! The whole place was full of cozy lights that were all on upon arrival, what a warm welcome. A bottle of water and three glasses were ready. Glad we brought our own fan, it's not standard, but Lucas said it is available upon request.
The reception was very pleasant. Lucas also directed his attention to the boys. What a nice man, mom. We got a tour of the campsite. Three spacious showers, 5 toilets spread across the campsite and under construction. The view of the countryside with a horse was amazing, you can also watch the sunset beautifully. Falling asleep in the evening was a challenge for me, as our tent bordered the common area. I heard people talking and laughing until 1:30 am. If you can't do that, you have to book something further from that common area. Toilets where you relieve yourself and cover it with a scoop of grass, lovely, we love it. You can leave your own shampoo and other liquid shower products at home, as there are bottles hanging with shampoo, body wash, and conditioner that are biodegradable. You can take drinks from the fridge, you just write down what you took and you will settle that later. Breakfast is great! Homemade sourdough bread, but also croissants, cheese, fruit, vegetables, yogurt were present, everything was vegetarian. There is a communal kitchen. Here again, you use it and clean up what you've used, lovely! Because it was very hot, we paid a visit to the nature pool in an 8-minute walk. We had some trouble with the pass where they put 3 people on 1 pass from the campsite, after an agreement with the natural swimming pool. This didn't go very smoothly at the nature pool upon arrival. Eventually we were able to go inside after telephone contact between the campsite and the nature pool. I found it a great place to stay! We will definitely be back!

Colorful camping feeling with sustainability

This is an experience, and simply beautiful. Everything is taken care of. And that with an extremely well-thought-out sustainable concept. Everyone is super friendly.
If you like hippy, colorful, sustainability and camping... Then this is the right place for you! We were thrilled.

Smell with mosquitoes

We rented 2 tents during the Whitsun weekend. The tents are equipped with sufficient sockets, lights and have heat blankets. One of our tents (Lampetee) had a mini fridge.
The website said that there was a 'normal' toilet in the main building, this information was incorrect. There are only compost toilets.
There are various building materials on the campsite (including piles of bricks, garage door, tractor tires) and the reception (first past a manufactured sawmill) does not look tidy. In the evening there were many mosquitoes in the tent, so first get mosquito repellent at the local supermarket.
Smell at the tent was very unpleasant (it smelled), so sitting comfortably at the tent is not an option. This was also confirmed by one of the employees.
Price / quality ratio is missing, too bad could be such a beautiful place.

Fantastic experience at The Helleborus

We've had a fantastic experience at the Helleborus. We were able to prepare our dinner ourselves in the amazing outdoor kitchen and sat by the campfire afterwards. When we went back to our tent it was really cozy and warm with the duvet and electric blanket (it was freezing minus 4 at that night). This is an amazing campsite with all sorts of prepared accommodations, varying from tents, caravans, wagons and so forth. Not far from Groningen. With very welcoming owners/staff. I highly recommend this place.

A wonderful place to get in touch with nature

Absolutely wonderful place where you really are in contact with nature. The showers are fantastic with plenty of space and good products to wash your hair and body with. The experience is half the price compared to a sterile hotel. Quiet and comfortable place where you can find the resting pulse.
Highly recommended!
