Hotel Yala Peak in Kathmandu was exceptional from beginning to end

My stay at Hotel Yala Peak in Kathmandu was exceptional from beginning to end.
What truly sets this hotel apart is its people.
As a first-time visitor to Nepal traveling from the United States, I was continuously impressed by the professionalism, kindness, and genuine care shown by every member of the staff. They went above and beyond to help with everything from transportation and local guidance to making sure I felt comfortable and supported throughout my stay. Their hospitality made Kathmandu feel welcoming from the moment I arrived.
I spent about a week and a half at Hotel Yala Peak during my journey through Nepal, and it quickly became a place that felt like home.
The hotel itself is beautifully managed. My room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, and I especially loved spending time on the terrace, where I did much of my creative writing and editing. The atmosphere throughout the property is peaceful, inviting, and thoughtfully designed.
The restaurant was another highlight. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. I looked forward to exploring the menu each day and enjoyed discovering new favorites throughout my stay. Their coffee shop was also excellent and became one of my favorite places to relax and work.
The location is ideal, with easy access to many of Kathmandu’s attractions, shops, and restaurants. Whenever I needed transportation, the staff made the process effortless, arranging taxis and helping with logistics in a way that made traveling stress-free.
One unexpected gift of my stay was the opportunity to meet fellow travelers from around the world, several of whom became friends.
Hotel Yala Peak combines outstanding hospitality, excellent food, a great location, and a team that genuinely cares about its guests. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and I look forward to returning on a future visit to Nepal.
Highly recommended.

Budget Hotel in the heart of Thamel

My stay at Hotel Yala Peak in Kathmandu was truly a pleasant experience, made especially memorable by the kindness and sincerity of the staff.
We arrived at the hotel at around 3:30 AM after a long journey from Pokhara, completely exhausted. Despite the odd hour, a wonderful young staff member named Sudeep, who was on night duty, handled everything with remarkable patience. He carefully went through the booking records, spoke to his senior, and made sure we could check in early so we could finally get some much-needed rest. What really stood out was his polite and humble nature—he kept asking us if we were upset about the slight delay, which showed how genuinely concerned he was about our comfort.
Sudeep also went out of his way to help us arrange an airport drop through InDrive and thoughtfully explained that we should not pay more than the fare shown on the app. That level of honesty and care is rare and deeply appreciated.
The hotel itself has a restaurant that serves delicious food, and the portions are quite generous, which is always a bonus after a tiring day of travel or sightseeing.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but considering the price and the excellent location, it is absolutely worth it. Everything you need is within easy reach, making it a very convenient place to stay in Kathmandu.
Overall, I had a very good experience and would definitely choose Hotel Yala Peak again if I return to Kathmandu.

A very good few nights at a great price.

I used this hotel last year and it was good enough to try again. I stayed for four nights nights over three periods in two different room types (standard and deluxe) in mid to late January.
The rooms were recently redecorated and the toilets and showers renovated...and worked as they should. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable and, despite theconvenient central Thamel location, it was quiet; no bar noise (though it was low season) and limited barking dogs (a bonus in KTM).
Staff were very friendly, although boss bahini at reception held firm during price negotiations she was friendly afterwards. That said, the low season price was very good and she did shave a little off. It was a bargain for the quality of accommodation. (I looked at another low budget place and the rooms were not as good.)
I will probably stay here again next time.

One of the best parts of being in Thamel

If you are thinking of going here, just go. The location is right in Thamel making walking around very easy. It is the best part of being there, because you are so close to many great things to do there. There are also incredible restaurants all around, however the one is in the hotel is amazing. I ate one of my meals there every day for a month.
The price is hard to beat as well. For what you get, it exceeded my expectations. Really though, it is the staff. I felt genuinely looked after and cared for. Customer service is important, yew, but this was sincere. I am looking forward to going back, and I will be back every year.
