Do yourself a favour - book a stay here!

A humble hotel in the heart of Thamel, with rooms and services to suit many kinds of travellers. My room was very clean, comfortable, and equipped with a hot shower and good wifi. Although the hotel itself fulfilled my accommodation needs, it was the staff at Hotel Holy Lodge that made my trip something special.
Wanting to avoid touristy-tours, I asked Santosh how I should see the sights of Kathmandu. He put me in contact with a friend of his who took me around on the back of his bike to check off my sightseeing list. We ate and drank with the locals, checked out many a temple, and shared lots of laughs as well.
I then got to know the other staff, who welcomed me and treated me like a brother. Although I travelled alone, I was never short of good company. Anil was fantastic, giving me a lot of great insight into life in Nepal for the locals, which he shared willingly over a couple of drinks. Dillip also provided me with great company and many laughs.
It is often difficult trying to figure out the price of travel in new countries, but the guys here taught me the tricks of the trade and ensured I was getting a fair deal when out and about, and also sorted me out with domestic travel in Nepal for considerably less than other operators.
Whatever you’re looking for in Kathmandu, or even the whole of Nepal, make sure to stop by this place. If not for the top-notch budget-friendly accomodation, then at least swing by to meet these honest lads and have them help you to make your trip something special.

Terrible, other hotels available and better.

It was an awful stay. At first look the room looked nice until we found the black mould, so much build up on the shower it only came out in a trickle and a cafe just over the road that played full volume all day and into the evening. Very noisy which isn't completely their fault but I've stayed in Thamel before without this level of noise. Staff were unfortunately rude and unhelpful. Worst place I stayed in Nepal and there are plenty other hotels in the area that I've stayed previously that are much better. Worth looking around before choosing this one.

Friendly excellent service

This is a low budget hotel good for travellers. Staff friendly and helpful, food good and building clean. Central location to shops etc but pub nearby plays music in the night, however it didn't stop me from falling asleep. Would stay here again.

Excellent option!

We stayed in Holy Lodge two time for a total of 8 nights. The room 112 is just purfect for a couple, the shared bathroom ans shower is just next door. Price is absolutely reasonable, including decent breakfast. This place is super well located in a vibrant part of Thamel ( some nights bars around can be loud but never enough to keep you aweke too late). But what we likes the most here is the lovely Staff, very kind, friendly and helpful. Thank you so much guys! You rock!

Great choice in Thamel

We stayed in Holy Lodge rwice during our travel in Nepal, at the beginning of the trip and at the end. We booked nice room with shared bathroom. Price is reasonable, including delicious breakfast. Staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. Thank you, will be back on next journey to Nepal ❤️
