Riad Thaïs

Located in the centre of Essaouira, this Riad is a 10-minute walk from the beach and 800 metres from the Port of Essaouira and Castelo Real. Built around a central patio, it offers a furnished terrace and a hammam. Free Wi-Fi is available in each en suite room at Riad Thaïs. The rooms are decorated with Tadelakt walls and they all have a view of the furnished patio. A continental breakfast is provided and it can be taken on the terrace. You can sample a brunch breakfast, at a surcharge. Moroccan dishes can be ordered for other meals, and served in the dining room featuring a fireplace. This Riad is situated a 5-minute walk from Place Moulay Hassan where the Gnaoua World Music Festival is held. Mogador Essaouira Airport is 15 km away and airport transfers are available at a supplement, as well as bike rental. Please inform Riad Thaïs in advance of your expected arrival time. Anne and Pascal were the most lovely generous and helpful hosts when we struggling to make travel arrangements. Lovely Riad in the heart of the medina with a fantastic roof terrace, superb breakfasts etc. Can’t wait to come back in calmer times.

Welcoming and Lovely

Anne and Pascual were most welcoming and accommodating! They were very easy to work with in arranging a room for me when I decided to extend my stay. The breakfast they prepare is tasty, and they even woke up super early to ensure I had something to eat for my 6:45am bus departure. The rooms are modern with an ensuite toilet that is a good mix of value versus size of room. I would be happy to return!

Lovely Hosts, Convenient Location, Beautiful Riad

My sister and I stayed at Riad Thaïs and loved it. The riad is conveniently located within the Medina, on one of the main streets, but nearer the end where it's quieter. Just note when you use google maps, this riad is pinned wrongly, and so when we first walked from the supratours bus station, we ended up at the wrong part of the medina. We managed to find the riad when we used our iPhone maps instead.
When we checked in, we were greeted by the lovely couple who own the riad, although we don't speak the same language (they mainly speak French or Italian), we managed to communicate somehow, and they were so nice! They provided breakfast the next day which was a good spread of bread, pastries, pancakes with jam/honey and fresh orange juice and coffee to go along with it.
The room we got was the Nejma double room which was very nicely designed with a staircase that led to a cute mezzanine area you can sit at, and most importantly, it was clean. The bathroom didn’t have a door though and a curtain instead so not much privacy there but was fine for us. The bed was comfortable but felt a bit damp - not sure if it’s because of the humidity in Essaouira or in the Riad itself. The riad has a nice rooftop that we sat at for one of our dinners we brought back.
The best part of this Riad was the hosts! The couple were so loving to each other, always smiling and genuinely nice. We felt like they were treating us like their daughters. We told them we were checking out early at 6am to catch a bus and they woke up just to make us coffee and juice, and packed us some pastries and fruit to bring on our journey! We were so touched and thankful for their hospitality. If you go to Essaouira, I would definitely recommend this Riad!

Quit, cool riad in the centre of the medina

Very beautiful, quiet, cool medina in the middle of the medina of Essaouira. Great location on walking distance of all the popular sights. Under the good care of a very friendly French couple. A great place to finish our holiday in Morocco.

Great Hospitality

A great Riad, very central and with great hospitality. I was greeted on arrival with tea and Moroccan sweets and the owners got up and made me breakfast at 7 am before my bus to Casablanca even though I didn't expect them to.
Rooms are basic but very clean and overall I really enjoyed my stay!
