Top resort in the middle Atlas
Beautiful resort in the middle Atlas of Morocco on a large lake. One of the swimming pools has a magnificent view over the lake. There are 3 restaurants with great food. The Sensation Suite room is a winner. When you are in the bath you look out over the mountains. The bed is mega big. Balcony and room have a view over the lake and mountains. What a peace you find here. Staff all friendly.
If I have to think of areas for improvement, the restaurant down by the lake can stay open a little longer, 18 hours the kitchen closes. The restaurant in the kasbah has tasty tajines, but that doesn't include real Moroccan bread.

Amazing experience
We had a wonderful stay at Widiane Resort. The location is absolutely beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and the whole atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing.
A very special thank you to Nasser at reception, who made our experience even better. He was incredibly welcoming, kind, professional, and always ready to help us with anything we needed. His hospitality and attention really stood out and made us feel very well looked after throughout our stay.
Thank you to Nasser and the entire Widiane Resort team for such a lovely experience. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to come back again!

Good hotel but overrated and over priced
I'll keep it to the point it was mostly a good experience, the hotel is nice the pools and amenities are nice too and the view is incredible. Now a few issues present themselves. The hotel is severely understaffed making experiences like breakfast, lunch or dinner very slow processes, as well as room service. The elevators are slow/not working and too small for the number of guests meaning you'd have to use the stairs most of the time, which is an issue as some parts of the hotel such as the breakfast area isn't reachable through the stairs. Basic service to the room such as asking for towels or pillows is incredibly slow or doesn't even happen if you don't call multiple times due to the lack of staff.
Some restaurants were closed during the time we were staying at the hotel restraining choices, and the lunch restaurant isn't up to par. Overall I think the 5 star denomination and high prices are overrated for the quality, a 4 star would be more appropriate.

The saffron restaurant was overpriced for what we received. The waiter was terrible. At the pool there was no service for drinks. Refrigerator did not work that well. When I checked in, staff did not speak to me in English. Breakfast was OK. It was the same thing every day. The bed was nice. The room was fairly clean, but some things were not clean like the glass panels on the deck. They would clean the room and take the dirty towels, but then not replace the towels so I would have to call to request towels all the time. There was a roach in the shower that I had to kill.
