Our amazing experience in the desert in the most beautiful place ever ! Ksar Merzouga

It’s an exceptional place, close to the dunes, the stuff are so so friendly they are at your service, available everytime to serve you. The food is so good it deserves what you pay . The facilities are clean and most importantly smell good not like many other places. They offer other activities such as sleeping in the desert with n the middle of the dunes with a camel ride there also quad rides as well as jeep tour where you can see and discover everything you need to see and know about Merzouga l.
We booked the night in the desert and the jeep tour it was the best experience we had in the desert , we saw a lake in which “flamingo birds” were we took pictures with the nomad people who lives in tents and had a Berber pizza with them.
For all we really thank all the stuff in this hotel for burning so kind and willing to help you with everything you need and we will definitely come back with our families next time. I highly recommend this hotel I would give it a 1000/10.

An absolute disaster

The facility is at the end of the world and has a massive backlog of renovations. The staff don't feel responsible for anything and are downright apathetic. But the absolute highlight is the food - if you can call it that. For example, there are apples with worms - at least in 90% of the apples. The staff saw this and did nothing. The rest of the food was borderline and barely edible. It was almost like a pig's meal. I've never experienced anything like it.

Sharon’s review

We stopped here after our time
In the dunes for one night. The hotel staff seemed bothered to have to assist us. Everything was an effort. The lights in the room are dim so reading is almost impossible at night. There was no waste paper basket in the room so we had to go outside to find a place to throw trash. The sink was broken. They gave us a small sample packet of shampoo for 2 people. It wasn’t enough for one. A extremely small soap. The food was bland at best but I will say the waiters were nice and pleasant. The upside for the place. It was loud during the day and night. Overall I would not recommend it. I notice all the prior reviews were pre Covid. I can’t help but wonder if post Covid it is different owners or manger. Definitely not what the pre Covid people saw.

WOW! BEAUTIFUL! STUNNING!

We arrived at this hotel quite late after quite a long bus ride from our previous destination. We fell in love instantly when we opened the door to our room.
Our room definitely had that Moroccan feel to it. Our room was large and consisted of a queen bed, separate toilet and shower, an alcove and an outdoor sitting area overlooking the inviting swimming pool below. My wife and I really loved the room and hotel.
The shower had nice hot water pressure and the WIFI reception was very good. Because we had arrived late (around dinner time), our tour group went to the dining area located in a separate area of the hotel and had dinner. We had plenty of Tajines to share (chicken, vegetable, beef and vegetarian) and it was delicious.
Breakfast was part of our stay and it was lovely with a variety of choices to pick from. The dining area has views of the desert just outside and if you walk out there, within a few seconds we were standing on the Sahara Desert – it was extremely exciting!
My only disappointment is that we were only here for 1 night as we were heading out into the Sahara Desert on camels the next day. Would highly recommending staying here for at least 2 nights if you can.

Wonderful hotel close to the desert

Kasbah Ksar Merzouga is a hotel located close to the Merzouga Desert, in Morocco. In fact, it is a Kasbah (a traditional fortified palace typical in desert regions of Morocco) and it has a very beautiful courtyard in the middle of the building. Also, in the back zone, you can enter to desert and see the sunset: wonderful! The rooms for 4 persons was fantastic, it was in the first floor of courtyard and it is Arabic-style. It had all we need to stay one (or some nights), it was comfortable and very beautiful. A great place to stay before going to the desert.
Also, it has a very good restaurant, where we had dinner and breakfast: it is always a buffet, where you can eat local dishes like tagine, cuscus, vegetables or sweets. Really a recommendable place to stay adults, elders and children as my 4 years old daughter.
