Tulum, Mexico stole my heart! In 2011, I went to visit, and loved it so much that I stayed for 4 years! The area is very laid back, earthy, and absolutely breath taking, filled with local shops, restaurants, and things to do, live dive shops and tour centers. The ancient energies throughout the Tulum Mayan ruins, are so peaceful and the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters will have not being able to get enough! The food is mouth watering, and even as a vegetarian, I was able to easily find foods that I could devour! This is one area that I make my way back to every year! Highly recommend for everyone!
This little stretch of the Yucatán feels like a slice of Bali in Mexico. Far superior to anything further north but, unfortunately, it is also being assaulted by a gringo invasion.
I can't wait to get back to Tulum and explore all it has to offer. I would love to stay for 8-10 days in this area to really explore! The ruins were beautiful, bit we missed out on the cenotes and beaches. We were so sick from a flu outbreak on our cruise that the day was so miserable with the kids. It sucked all the life out me with just the single ride from Cozumel. The experience was still a beautiful one, although rushed. When we come back we will do isle holbox & Tulum and stay at the Andaz treehouse hotel!
The town of Tulum is a hipster, foodie, and artistic town with a modern bohemian flair. Though the vibe is difficult to describe, the night life, dining and shopping are exceptional in this quaint little town. The Artists and musicians that frequent Tulum give it an unconventional culture that, unless experienced first hand, is very difficult to depict.
