Great Hotel/Motel to relax plus very economical

Stopped for the night after pizza at Pizzeria Valentinas. Very clean, good rooms, nice pool with a lot of green areas. The hotel is spread out over several acres so you never feel crowded. We were there in November and there was almost no one there. Easy walk to stores and restaurants. Short drive to the caves Grottoes Loltún (temp closes) where there is an inexpensive guide available. Worth the trip.

For one step only

Really not worth the detour... stopover hotel without more... precarious comfort, barely suitable bedding, no charm, unpleasant welcome, no breakfast possible, but has parking. We do not recommend. Too bad because the region deserves better.

A surprisingly good experience

On the spur of the moment, i took a bus to Oxkutzcab to visit a friend and meet their family. I arrived at midnight , went to my room and was impressed with the standard room.
There was nothing overly fancy, but the place was spotlessly clean. A comfortable bed, cold air conditioning, modern TV, and decent wifi.
Room #18 was on the second level and was very quiet. (there is no elevator)
The staff was friendly and helpful. I did not use the restaurant, but looked in and it too was spotless.
Free and secure parking is available.
If anyone is in this area and needs a nice clean and safe hotel, i would highly recommend

Pool?

The pool area is lovely but a long walk from the rooms. It was closed the entire two days we were there. Forget the onsite restaurant. It is geared for busloads of travelers, not individuals. Friendly staff and the rooms were clean and adequate.

Centric, clean and great personnel

We have a wonderful guide, Pablo Villarreal. He recommended Hotel Puuc. From there, we were in the middle of the most amazing places. Pyramid/Temples on top of hills, that are still not on maps, caves with wonderful drawings, and crystal caves. We went everyday with Pablo to a completely different site, and return to Hotel Puuc to have a wonderful dinner (the cook was 25 years working as chef in San Francisco). Clean, good beds and great people!
