A place you’ll never want to leave…
Staying at Ali, Pascale and Fabrice place has been one of our favorite adventures in Mauritius. Imagine a lush garden with palms and flowers, a pool overlooking the ocean and a roof terrace with sunset view, a studio all for yourself (plus friends or family of course), and still this is only part the experience. What you find in Bellevue Tamarin is a warm welcome and that family feeling that makes you wanna spend the whole day talking with your hosts. Fabrice, Pascale and Ali are very experienced in hosting guests from all over the world and they are exceptional at tailoring your stay based on your interests and passions. I would definitely recommend Bellevue Tamarin to anyone looking for a 5star experience without being in a resort or hotel. Thanks again Ali, Pascale and Fabrice, we’ll definitely be back :)

So, certainly cheap, but poor quality is always too expensive paid.
-huge cockroaches in the bathroom,
- unbearable noise nuisance linked to a construction site just next door and a road, so-called secondary (!!!), extremely busy,
-an air conditioning at 5 euros a day, unheard of... So either we pay, or we get eaten by mosquitoes, or the heat keeps you up,
- a payment on the spot, before you have even seen the accommodation, either in cash or in CB with 3.5% additional costs,
- a non-existent wi-fi, heavily penalizing for Whatsapp and to organize its days,
- a TV present fixed to the wall but not usable because no antenna socket,
- very questionable hygiene (mould on the shower head, dirty and rusty fridge, etc...),
And for those who are afraid of dogs, 3 German shepherds, kind but impressive.

Very disappointing Penthouse apartment
When you think of the word Penthouse you think luxury. This penthouse was certainly not that. Our main concern was the safety of the electrics which blew repeatedly every night, luckily the owner showed us where the fuse box was so we could reset it every time we were plunged into darkness. We worked out in the end that we could only use one appliance at a time. The overhead fan in the main room was broken and we could not even use the very noisy free standing fan they provided as a replacement when using the cooker or any other appliance as the electrics blew. The bedding was cheap and crumpled; the bedroom was advertised on hotels.com as having blackout and an overhead fan, it had neither. I note they have updated that information on hotels.com website now. Generally the penthouse is run down and done on the cheap and to top it all there is a very noisy construction site next door to compete with the noise of constant traffic on the road below and barking dogs. We booked this penthouse apartment for 11 nights but only endured 4. We have received a partial refund but not full for the nights we did not stay. Most annoying and upsetting is the owners claim we had not informed them of the repeated electrical problems and that we were leaving, despite the fact that one of them stood in the kitchen/ living space face to face with me the night before we left and witnessed my stress and upset with constantly blowing electrics and I told her we would be leaving the next day. With this in mind we are not interested in any comments the owners have to make and won’t be reading them, as they are clearly happy to be dishonest.
If you like a homestay feel and lot’s of interaction with the owners this is the place for you - the owners clearly enjoy talking to and organising their guests. I know they will be disappointed with this review but I can only be honest to help other fellow traveler's make an informed choice. We had traveled 24hrs after a busy few months looking forward to a relaxing break and were bitterly disappointed and it ruined our holiday. We just wanted privacy and safe accommodation.
My comments are only regarding the Penthouse, I cannot comment on the standard of the other rooms on offer.
If you like a homestay feel and lot’s of interaction with the owners this is the place for you - the owners clearly enjoy talking to and organising their guests. I know they will be disappointed with this review but I can only be honest to help other fellow traveler's make an informed choice. We had traveled 24hrs after a busy few months looking forward to a relaxing break and were bitterly disappointed and it ruined our holiday. We just wanted privacy and safe accommodation.

A beautiful holiday at Bellevue Tamarin
We enjoyed our first oversea holiday with our baby in Mauritius. Our stay at Bellevue Tamarin Guesthouse was an unforgettable and beautiful experience. We booked the penthouse apartment with a breath taking view of the ocean and sunsets. The rooms are lovingly decorated and made us feel at home straight away.
Pascale and Fabrice, the hosts, go out of their way to enable you a wonderful and relaxed holiday. They organized us an airport pick up, a rental car with baby seat, a baby bed and high chair and a hiking backpack to carry our baby. They provided us with great recommendations for day trips, local „must-see‘s“ and „must-tastes“, good restaurants and beautiful beaches.
During our stay, they scheduled a Catamaran sunset sail for us and a date night with an apero at a bar at the beach and a dinner at a great restaurant. During our holiday, Pascale and Fabrice had organized some great events for all of the guests. We were stunned by the beautiful Sega dancers and musicians that were organized for a couples wedding anniversary. It was our first night on the island, so clearly a fantastic start of our holiday! On another night we enjoyed a delicious Indian dinner at the guesthouse.
We highly recommend everyone to book some treatments at Bellevue Guesthouse during their stay. They were so relaxing!
All in all this was a memorable trip. Thank you guys so much for this wonderful holiday and for enabling us to experience Mauritius from a local point of view too!

Very nice guesthouse in Tamarin
Everytime again in a very friendly atmosphere! We had been completey content with the service, the taking care about us, the very good proposals for having diner near the guesthouse - very nice restaurants. We wish this family all the best!
