The most wonderful place

What an exceptional, wonderful place! The chalets are carefully curated with beautiful furniture and the view from our chalet was incredible. From the gorgeous pool, exceptional staff (can't go on enough about them - friendly, helpful and just all round amazing), lovely meals and resident dog, we had the best time. We felt hidden away from the world and can't wait to stay again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Important - Non-compliant service + Racist owners - Read before booking a stay

A very disappointing 2-night stay despite the potential of the place. We were forced to choose between hot water with a piercing noise every 10-20 seconds making sleep impossible, or silence but no hot water — unacceptable for an establishment at this price point. The staff were aware of this recurring issue (they immediately explained the cause and the "solution" to us) but we were never informed upon arrival. According to the staff, many guests ask the same question: a known problem, never fixed. The most shocking part, however, was the way the situation was handled by the owner. After simply requesting a commercial gesture given the inconveniences we experienced, we received aggressive messages, a threat of immediate eviction and of calling the tourist police, as well as discriminatory remarks related to my supposed religion based solely on my first name ("go to a muslim country & try your luck there"), which is quite surprising when the owners take it upon themselves to boast about tolerance and respect for all religions (see screenshot of one of their replies). The management's behaviour is documented by numerous other reviews: aggressiveness, racism, ignored complaints, refused refunds. We were polite and considerate from beginning to end. Avoid this establishment. It is a shame as the setting is pleasant, but the way guests are treated when a problem arises is deeply disappointing and does not at all match the level of service expected for a stay at this price.

Heaven on earth !

This place is truly something special. From the moment we arrived, we felt surrounded by genuine warmth, kindness, and care. The lush nature, the peaceful atmosphere, and the beautiful little houses make this boutique hotel feel like a hidden paradise.
What made our stay unforgettable were the people. Karishma went absolutely above and beyond for us in every possible way. There was simply never a moment when the answer was “no” — she always found a way to help and make our stay even more special. She also gave me the best massage of my life. I cannot recommend it enough — if you have even the slightest chance, take that one hour and enjoy it. It was truly incredible.
Another highlight was a wonderful conversation with Didier, who also created one of those small but unforgettable moments. One evening by the pool, he surprised my daughter with a dessert from the house. It may seem like a small gesture, but it meant so much and perfectly reflects the thoughtfulness of the whole team. It’s these little things that make a place truly exceptional.
I rarely say that I would return to the same hotel, but this is definitely a place I would come back to without hesitation. While much of the island can feel quite touristy, this charming mountain village feels authentic, peaceful, and incredibly special. At the same time, it’s very easy to reach the stunning Le Morne beach and beautiful hiking trails from here.
If you ever find yourself in Chamarel, this is the place to stay. Truly magical.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We hope to return one day.

Peaceful, relaxing, and a lovely base for exploring national parks and the green southwest of Mauritius.

I had a lovely couple of weeks here in December.
The chalets are peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery, sunshine and birdsong.
The staff are all friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is included and evening meals bookable, with each day's menu being available after breakfast.
A choice of treatments is offered by Karishma the manager and twice I had an excellent massage.
Electric bicycles are available to hire by the day; I found that a particularly pleasant way of exploring the village locally and visiting, for example, Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark, Chamarel Waterfall and Curious Mauritius.
It's a lovely place to stay and I can thoroughly recommend it.
