A basic hotel with clean and rather spacious rooms. It’s good to have a car as the hotel is not very near the malls, but there are nearby restaurants and kiosks for convenience. Overall, a decent and comfortable stay.

Need some improvements

I stayed at Arissa Hotel for 3 nights and 4 days. The booking process was smooth and straightforward, which was a good start to the trip. Do note that the hotel only offers non-smoking rooms, so there is no option for smoking rooms.
Upon check-in, a deposit is required, which will be refunded after check-out. Guests are only provided with one access card by default. If you need a second card, there is an additional charge of RM20, and only half of that amount is refunded later, which can be a bit inconvenient.
Unfortunately, my stay was affected by several room and access issues. The key card system was quite problematic, both the lift and room door scanners were inconsistent, and I had to go back and forth multiple times to get the card replaced or reactivated, which became frustrating.
I also had to change rooms multiple times due to various issues. The first room had a door access problem, possibly due to a faulty lock or battery. The second room I was moved to appeared to be under maintenance, so it wasn’t suitable. In the third room, the phone and locker were not working, and there were two large lizards in the room, which was quite unpleasant.
I requested another room change, but since no rooms were immediately available, I had to wait. As I couldn’t wait, I went out and returned later that night. Eventually, I was given another room, which I stayed in for the rest of the trip.
Even with two access cards, there were still issues — one card worked for the lift but not the room door, and the other worked for the door but not the lift. In the end, we just had to adapt, although it was far from ideal.
The room itself was basic but acceptable. The air conditioning worked well, which was a plus. However, the TV had very limited channels with little to no English options, and there was no smart TV. The bathroom was okay, but both the shower and bidet were leaking quite badly. Basic toiletries like toothbrush and toothpaste were also not provided.
In terms of location, the hotel is near Kampung Chetti, with a few eateries nearby. It’s also about a RM10 Grab ride to Melaka Raya and Mahkota Shopping Centre, which is quite convenient.
Overall, the pricing is reasonable, but there are several areas that need improvement. The key card system, room maintenance, plumbing issues, TV options, and basic amenities should be addressed to improve the overall guest experience.

A Short & Brief Stay!

Hotel is not located near to any eateries or mall. Hotel room is clean and comfortable. Room rate is very reasonable & will recommend to some budget conscious friends.

Photos Looks Better Than Actual

Pros:
+ Location was very central
+ Onsite free parking around the hotel
+ Staff were very helpful and polite (probably one of the saving grace)
+ Restaurants, convenience stores, a bank were available around the hotel
Cons:
- The water heater wasn't working. I had maybe 2 minutes of hot water and then it was gone all the way
- Room was really small, not one you'd want to spend a lot of time in
- The hotel is about 8 years old and looks and feel really worn

Love the space but the flooring feels a bit sticky. I'm guessing the cleaner used cheap detergent and leaves a residue
