A relaxing resort feel you'd not expect to find in Bentong

the ambient surroundings give a resort feel to this stay. Just a short distance from good makan places in Kg Baru for delicious halal food, for chinese food go into the town or if staying longer, it is also very convenient to explore the hot spring, hutan lipur etc etc The rooms are aircond very comfortable & best of all, opt for a sectioned area that can cater to a larger group with own sitting area. Outside the mature trees provide a very inviting atmosphere. You can even show the kids what durian trees look like, it's a nature study!

The service is unbelievable! The water heater is for steamboat !!

The hotel staff's attitude was unbelievable. We arrived around 22:45, and the staff seemed unhappy about our late check-in, repeatedly asking why we were so late and if it was a long distance. They asked two or three times, but I didn't think much of it, assuming they were just chatting. After getting into the room, we planned to take a shower and rest, but the water from the showerhead was ridiculously hot—I think it was around 70-80 degrees Celsius. No matter how we adjusted it, it was the same. We had no choice but to turn off the water heater switch and wait about five minutes, but the water was still unusable. We had to find a hotel staff member to fix it. A middle-aged woman wearing glasses came, tested the water temperature, and also thought it was impossible to shower. Then she said she'd be there in a bit and left. We waited in the room for 10 minutes, but no one came to fix it, so we went out to look for someone. That woman, completely unconcerned, replied: "The water heater is from Centralise. And then what? Couldn't you have come and let us know? We were waiting for you, and you gave us this reply when we had to go out and find you?" Then a foreign worker came in. Maybe 20 minutes had passed by then. We had turned off the heater earlier, so the water wasn't as hot when he came in. He impatiently replied, "Isn't this water temperature normal?" I was completely speechless. Your staff is truly top-notch!! I'll definitely be very wary of your hotel in the future.

A quiet cosy retreat in Bentong

Excellent location. Just a short distance exiting the Karak Highway at the East Bentong exit. The resort is 10 minutes away from town. It's so convenient to shop or go out for meals. Cosy Balinese style rooms, wood panels, walls and doors. The rooms are fully air-conditioned. There's ample parking lots inside. Receptionist is available 24 hours.
Sadly missing, no swimming pool, and the restaurant is closed since the Covid pandemic. But since it's just 10 minutes away from town where there's plenty of good restaurants, it's no issue at all. Bottled water and coffee is free and there's a kettle, so there's always the option of cooking instant noodles or other fast cooked meals using boiled water, if you do not wish to go out in the middle of the night. Free WiFi is available but the signal is not strong if your room is further away from the reception area. If you have a Malaysian SIM card, reception is 4G anytime.

Came back after 2 1/2 years

I came back after my 1st review here back in Oct 2019 again with my family
This time sround there extended area with more rooms and 2 stories of room and I believe is deluxe room with minibar
Things that have not improved is the internet as it’s weak since years ago unable to log in and the hot water are limited time on the bath tub. Would be nice if the water heater tank improved as well.
Everything at Athome Resort has remained the same. Would be great if the Owner Albert will install ceiling fan in each room as having AC makes our skin very dry. If can improved wifi connectivity and hot water, fan, and minibar, it would be 5 star service

Quaint place

Love the brick and wood architecture of the place with Balinese atmosphere. The resort is easy to find, just off the main road. Room is nice with a wooden four-poster bed but the bathroom is the “wet” type where everything gets wet when you take a shower. There is a sunken bath tub ( but without hot water) - fun for kids to play in but do watch out for the protruding pipes ! Do not expect too much, there is no restaurant or any other facilities or entertainment in the resort. Just a place to spend the night while you explore the town of Bentong.
