Throughly recommend for a relaxing stay on Lamu.

Kijani Hotel was all that we had hoped and more.
What really made our stay was the openness and care from the staff who genuinely wanted to help you. Elizabeth was exceptional in helping us to sort out a lost bag left in Uber in Nairobi - it arrived the day after all in one piece Waiters Henry, Sifa, Tsofa, Susan, and reception staff Brian and all the others were attentive and keen to ensure we had all we needed. They would arrange boat trips, handled our queries with ease and politeness.
The hotel is very attractively laid out with a lovely sense of space and calm. Gardens and pool area were natural and provided plenty of shade. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.
We had a room overlooking the waterfront that provided plenty of opportunity for boat and people watching, but it was never too noisy and all was quiet by 10ish at night.
Each meal was freshly cooked, beautifully presented, generous in size and delicious.
Would recommend it as a place to stay in Shela every time. Perfect atmosphere and location with easy transfer from airstrip included free.
Quieter than staying in Lamu town with a more chilled vibe.

Kijani, little paradise, but ....without a band!

Man-sized hotel very well located by the ocean (but no beach!)
Swimming pool small but nice except when children play and scream in what quickly becomes hell!
No luck for me, I had to share this little paradise with a group of 14 overexcited and noisy Spaniards ... impossible to go to the restaurant at the same time so quiet
n was out of order... and my room was trapped under the restaurant and against the Mosque! Having booked 4 nights, I asked the hotel manager (Fred) to find a solution. Everything was complete, I was offered an entire apartment (that of the absentee owner) and I was finally able to enjoy some quiet. Thank you to him for being effective in this situation.
On the last night, the group was gone, I ate a succulent lobster at the restaurant.
The breakfast is complete and very successful, we bring you everything at will and with a big smile... thanks to Ewans, the waiter but also to Boniface room service and boat transfer, their professionalism and commitment are to be emphasized.

Cher Jeanchristophe211,
Fred Sai,
Directeur de l’Hôtel

Beautiful, warm, and welcoming

My parents and I had the absolute best time at Kijani hotel. Everyone on staff was kind, welcoming, helpful, and warm. Tina and Brian went out of their way to help coordinate guest experiences. Sifa recommended me the best smoothie bowl I’ve eaten in my life. Edwin, Tsofa, and Suzanne were amazing and my family loved chatting with them. Stefan, Omar, and Yari were all so fun and easy to talk to. Everyone on staff is incredible.
My dad and I took an incredible morning yoga class with Fred on the roof, with the ocean waves as a nice background sound. The rooms were beautiful with vintage dressers and lamps. The library and chess set and pool and outdoor seating areas are lovely. 100000/10!

Relaxing stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Great breakfast with loads of choices. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well maintained.
We arrived tired and in need of a good rest, left feeling completely refreshed and relaxed. A wonderful stay and definitely a place we would happily recommend!
Singling out awesome service from Tina, Brian, Sifa and Steve.

Amazing! Can't recommend it more

We had an amazing experience and would definitely stay here again! It was my second time and Kijani and my family's first time. Tina and Lavender at reception went above and beyond to make sure we were as comfortable as possible - we requested a pedestal fan for the bathroom of one of our rooms as it felt a little stuffy after a shower, and they delivered it to our room within 15 minutes, and anytime we requested ice or a snack it was delivered to us promptly. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional - particularly Steven and Sipi. They provide a daily turn down service which is very useful to keep the mosquitos out. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the decor is charming. The pool and garden areas are also lovely - we enjoyed our time at the hotel as much (if not more) than at the beach. We were in rooms 4 and 5. Room 4 is more spacious but both rooms were very comfortable and included massive verandas with a very sturdy hanging bed that was great to relax on. The food is also delicious and there are a variety of lovely spots to dine in, besides the rooftop restaurant. The cherry on the cake are all the tortoises (big and small) that really add to the overall charm of the place.
