It's old but well maintained

The hotel is located about a 15-minute walk from the station, near the preservation district. There is a laundry room on the first floor and a souvenir shop (albeit small, next to the front desk), so it seems to cater to both tourists and business travelers.
I made a reservation about two weeks before my stay, but the single rooms were already full, so I ended up in a Japanese-style room. It was 8 tatami mats, which may have been too big for one person. The futon was very comfortable, but I only stayed overnight (6,000 yen per night), so I don't know about the meals.
As many reviews have said, there were certainly some old parts. There was a creaking sound when walking down the hallway. On the other hand, the elevator and the plumbing in the room were new. However, the faucet was too long, which made it difficult to wash your face. The bathtub was also strangely small. The rinse-in-shampoo and body soap didn't foam very well either. I guess they meant that you should use the large public bath as much as possible.
The room door (not an autolock) is not soundproof, so if you talk loudly, it will leak everywhere. Our room faced the courtyard, but if you're in a room facing the street, you might hear noise from outside. Also, maybe because it was on the top floor (2nd floor), I felt it was hot when I entered the room. It cooled down at night, but it might be uncomfortable in midsummer.
It's old, so there are a lot of issues, but if you don't mind the small details, it's not a big problem (if you're dissatisfied with the price, it might be safer to choose a different hotel from the start). When I checked in, the staff took the trouble to guide me to the elevator. Also, they still recommend a certain "local work".
