I wish we stayed here longer, the staff were amazing and helpful even with the language barrier. The location is authentically Japanese, or as close as possible. The Onsens were amazing and food was delicious. I was planning on gate keeping the location so it doesn’t become too westernised, but the place is too amazing and hopefully it keeps its Japanese roots.

We arrived @ 12pm and was deny early check-in. Nonetheless reception took copies of passports, held our luggage for storage and return to check-in @ 1600. While waiting in line for check-in, the hotel staff stopped us and ushered a guest to stand in front of me without my permission. This act was extremely disrespectful and unfair. When finally reached the reception counter, the counter staff took our luggage tag, insisted we had not checked-in yet, and demanded our passports second time with no explanation. When we inquired about our luggage, we were told our luggage were already in our room. If we hadn't checked-in, how was our luggage already placed in the room?
Trying to clarify this contradiction resulted in a lengthy, frustrating argument. The staff spoke only Japanese, lacked basic English communication skill,and made no effort to resolve the confusion politely. As non-Japanese-speaking foreign travellers, we were treated with a severe lack of respect and professionalism. The front desk operations are chaotic and unfair. I strongly advise international visitors to book elsewhere.

The hotel room was rather dated, definitely needed renovation. We have never had such a disappointing meal in a Ryokan. We'd rather pay a bit more rather than putting up with such a terrible dinner.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and big. The public bath is good with 3 locations ro choose.
