Excellent hotel, breakfast and restaurant recommendations

Hotel Ota is located in Ozu, a little town in Shikoku Island. The rate quality/price was excellent. The room has all we needed to stay comfortable. It has a two-seater sofa. A very good buffet Japanese breakfast was included in the price. The staff recommended us to one of the best restaurants, that we went on our Japan trip. They answered our questions quickly in booking xat. It offers free parking.
On the other hand, the bathroom is a bit small. The staff did not speak English, but we could understand with them.

Absolutely appalling

An absolute disgrace of a hotel - unless you want to feel like you've wandered into a Japanese Nationalist rally from the 1930s! Extremely rude at check in to me "gaijin", and to my wife "urasai ba-san" when challenged (politely) on the phone after I'd had my reservation torn up for not producing my passport...I live here, and the law does NOT require a photocopy of that or any proof of ID document. Disgraceful 'Welcome to Ehime' which required police intervention (to tell the hotel to allow me to stay!). Avoid this place like the plague - even if you miss the check-in pantomime, you'll catch something nasty in the room.

A good hotel to stay for one or two nights. The staff was very friendly and the room was nice and clean

Free parking. Relatively good prices but rooms are a bit small, nice overall. Few stores across the street, not bad for late arrival.

Not difficult to get to. Seem to have been renewed recently. Cost efficient option. Walkable to a supermarket with good selection of stuff
