This was my second visit to this ryokan, and once again, their breakfast and dinner did not disappoint. The portion sizes, the delicate presentation of traditional Japanese cuisine, and the stunning river view are truly unbeatable.
However, the cleanliness of the room still needs improvement. I noticed spider webs inside the light fixtures in our room, and unfortunately, some dog feces on the back stairs of the building remained uncleaned for all three days of our stay.

It is a calm hot spring inn

About 5 minutes by hotel shuttle bus from Kawajiyumoto Station. Check-in is conducted while eating welka musu sweets at the window seat. The rooms are well-maintained and spacious, and the mountains in front of you are beautiful. The hot springs and the food are very satisfying.

Amazing Location. Great Experience and Hospitality

Located on the bank of Kawaji river, you can experience Onsen (Japanese Hotspring) with the view of the river and the Railway bridge. We saw the old Diesel Rail cross the river a few times. The Hospitality was out of the world. We had a private dinner and breakfast with our Japanese friend's family. Really a wonderful experience.

Traditional Japanese Hotel

This traditional Japanese hotel is pure luxury. The vast entrance lobby with its plush carpets welcome you to this highly regarded hotel set in a delightful garden setting. The Autumn colours of the trees were beautiful. The traditional rooms very comfortable indeed, given that one sleeps on the floor. The food, and the service of it, is exceptional, but the highlight is the hot springs, or Onsen, where one relaxes having a good soak in the hot water under the sky. You won’t be disappointed with this hotel located in the Nikko National Park.
