The extra space the room provided was essential for our family. Staff went above and beyond to provide extraordinary service. We liked it so much, we stayed there twice!

Lovely home away from home in an historic neighborhood

We stayed a night in the Happyaku room and enjoyed it tremendously.
The location is brilliant - the inn is located in a quaint building in the historic neighborhood. Despite the area being a tourist attraction, the street itself is quiet and peaceful.
The room is very spacious with a dining area / kitchen, tatami area, and a bedroom. There's a convenient washer-dryer in the kitchen. The only downside is that the room is on the second floor, so it's not the most accessible. If accessibility is a priority, pick the Niju room on the first floor.
The service is excellent, and the breakfast is very delicious. Both the Japanese and Western options looked delectable.
I would highly recommend Utaimachi for anyone seeking to soak in the charming Higashichaya neighborhood.

Wonderful Kanazawa hotel

We loved this hotel right in the centre of the old streets of Kanazawa. The welcome we received was great and the breakfast each morning excellent with choices between Japanese and Western. The highlight though was without doubt the traditional room with views down one of the old streets of Kanazawa. Everything was within easy walking distance. The room also had a washing machine which on a long holiday was very useful. Hard to fault, thanks to everyone for looking after us.

Lovely experience staying at a Ryokan. The rooms are spacious, and are a good mixture of modern and traditional. Located in the heart of the Higashi Chaya district.
