Beautiful location, fantastic staff, an incredible stay!

What a fantastic experience! Small, intimate, exceptionally accommodating and truly lovely. Our stay at Hakone Gora Byakudan was too brief, only two nights, but it was incredibly relaxing. The rooms was immaculate, beautifully appointed, comfortable and spacious. The exterior hot spring tub was perfect, as was our view of the lovely forest mountainside. The meals were perfectly prepared, and our server Midori was an absolute treat. The location requires you to grab a shuttle or a cab to get to town or the various local attractions, and the size of the place means there aren't a huge number of amenities -- but the isolation of the place is part of why we liked it. No tourist crowds, no traffic, no noise. Just luxurious relaxation. We would return in a heartbeat.

Very beautiful, wonderful attention . Great place . My only complaint would be the lack of available transportation. There are wonderful hotels in the area and it is a problem to get there and to get out

A must visit if you’re planning a trip to Hakone. The staff was polite, friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful- a perfect getaway from the busy cities.

Family Inn

I revisited it after several years. I have the impression that it is Hakone price. The customer service is like a part-time job and the food is fine food. I noticed from reviews from other people that the highly rated people are getting free room upgrades. That's right. If you stay in an expensive room at a low price, it will definitely look good. I thought it was for the sake of word of mouth evaluation.

The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful. Our private onsen was something out of a movie. And it’s a superb place for kids — many fun little treats everywhere. Very much recommend. However, if your kid is an adventurous eater, make sure they do not serve them the kids meal Kaiseki. It is definitely subpar fast food level. Pre-order the adult version because you can’t change on the spot.
