Wonderful

A magical place with a splendid view, the hosts were simply wonderful, after dinner the owner met us by car and took us on a night tour of Rossano.
New structure with attention to detail, large and clean rooms. Good breakfast, unfortunately we were unable to taste the homemade cakes prepared by the lady, having booked at the last minute, it will be for next time.
Very convenient parking.

Good and comfortable place to stay. Food quality is good. Location also very near to the station and makes shopping also comfortable.

superior B&B

This B&B is situated a long way from the railway station as it is in the old town. A taxi cost 10 Euros. The old town is in one of the poorer parts of this area but the views of the coast and mountains are spectacular. The B&B itself was fabulous. The room was beautifully furnished and the bathroom was great with interesting toiletries. The breakfast was delicious and varied and the hosts were charming. We could not fault it.

Tucked in a corner overlooking the town, wonderful...

We chose La Terrazza because of prior reviews that raved about Enrica and Sergio's B&B and they were right.. Payment was through PayPal - Enrica emailed me back re all my questions right away. The B&B is new, elegantly designed, with original wall elements embedded in the new walls. B&B's are not the same experience anymore in Italy - they have new beds, with every detail attended to for an aesthetic experience, and the hosts are often professionals doing this as a passion. Enrica and Sergio made us feel very welcome and helped us with maps and itinerary before we set out to explore.
The walk to town was all downhill, and uphill on the return, but we found the shortcut.
Breakfast included scrambled eggs! Homemade breakfast cake! Delicious! Television, of course, with every channel, though we don't watch. The piazza outside was charming. Everyone had their front door open for the spring evening. It felt like a private courtyard. We ate a picnic on the terrace rooftop. The B&B would be perfect for a group as there is a 'living room' and terrace for getting together and relaxing.
A car would be helpful, but the town is so small, as long as you can walk an incline, you're there. We came to see the Codice Purpurea, an early medieval manuscript of the New Testament kept in the Diocesan museum of the Cathedral. It was out for restauration and a facsimile edition was in its place. Lots of interesting manuscripts/letters in this museum.

Tremendous B&B in a beautiful town

We have been touring Calabria by public transport which everyone agrees is a crazy thing to do. Anyway, we arrived in Rossano by bus from Cosenza and caught the local up to Rossano Centro. Sergio was helpful in recommending where to ask to be dropped which is in Piazza Grottaferrata, then it's up a flight of 62 steps. This gets easier after a few shots at it and this is a town of slopes and steps anyway so you may6 as well get in practice. There is parking available outside if you decide to travel the sensible way. La Terrazza is wonderful, beautifully appointed, lovely spacious rooms and facilities and great views over the countryside to the sea. The owners and everyone else there are kind and helpful. The B&B is on the edge of town but this means you are no more than 5 minutes walk, literally, from the centre and perhaps 8-10 from the Duomo. Rossano is a small, endlessly fascinating and beautiful town and La Terrazza is a perfect place to stay to get the most from it.
