Great location, clean hotel and wonderful breakfas
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Hotel Palermo Centro. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Palermo, and everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of choice and something for everyone.
A special mention has to go to Giuseppe behind the bar and the gentleman who served at breakfast. He
They were both incredibly friendly, kind, knowledgeable and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for gussipe and his warm and welcoming attitude really made a difference. In fact, he was one of the highlights of our whole stay and is a real credit to the hotel.
There were a couple of less positive points. Unfortunately, on a few occasions some of the female bar staff came across as rather rude and unwelcoming, particularly when we asked for a glass of ice, which was disappointing given how hot it was. A little more warmth and friendliness would have made a big difference.
The safe in our room also stopped working a few times, although this was dealt with and fixed by the hotel.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would recommend the Mercure Hotel Palermo Centro, particularly because of its location, cleanliness, breakfast and the fantastic service from Giuseppe and the breakfast waiter. Their kindness and helpfulness really stood out.

Stay at the Mercure Hotel Palermo!
We had a lovely time staying at this hotel, when we arrived we were greeted very warmly by the staff and then surprised with an upgraded room! The whole hotel and our room was very well cleaned every day and we had no issues with any part of our stay. As 2 girls travelling in a city we didn't know, the hotel felt extremely safe and the staff were very kind towards us with anything we needed or any restaurant recommendations (Oste E Pizza is a great pizza place near to the hotel).
We would like to say thank you to the lovely staff member at breakfast who provided my friend with gluten-free products, and remembered us at other breakfasts. He would check if we were finding the gluten-free options around the city okay and recommended some gluten-free restaurants he goes to with his wife in the city (we tried one and it had amazing food).
Thank you very much to all the lovely staff and cleaners at the hotel, you made our experience of travelling to Palermo amazing!

I would stay here again if I returned to Palermo.
Hotel very well located, central, just two minutes away.
Spacious and comfortable room; they change sheets and towels every day. Upon arrival, they leave a bottle of water and some cookies.
The breakfast is varied and the staff there is very friendly; they make delicious cappuccinos.
They have parking at the hotel; we would leave our van outside the hotel and they would bring it to the door at the time we requested it.
As for the front desk staff, they were all very friendly, especially Emmanuel, who made reservations at several places for us and tried to resolve all our questions.

We’ve been given a room in a separate office building. The street outside this building was noisy.
The room looked cheap and comes with a shared kitchen which looks depressing. The room wasn’t well kept, the bin was falling apart and the soap rack was rusty.
Overall very disappointing as a returning guest.
