Holiday in Manarola
My husband and i loved Cinque Terre after traveling to all the villages, we decided that we liked Manarola the most. Our accommodation was in keeping to the style of the area and Maria is a wonderful host. Highly recommend staying here but make sure you hit the gym before you come to tackle the hills and stairs.

Perfect Location
Manarola was a great location for our 5 night stay in Cinque Terre. Maria is a great host and we loved our "private" patio near our room. It is quite an experience to see the difference between the day crowds (...so many people!) and the peaceful evenings watching tjhe sunset..Grazie Maria! from Fern and Anne-Marie (May 2018)

Lovely Oasis in Bustling Cinque Terre
We had a lovely week at Il Patio. The situation is excellent, high but central and accessible by a long slope with just a few steps down to the front door.. Inside the accommodation is simple and pleasant with everything that you need for a self catering stay. We stayed in the flat with the little patio and appreciated being able to sit outside and the view of the church and hillside was nice. If you want to look down to the town and sea you only have to pop outside the front door!
Piera our host looked after us well and was friendly without being intrusive. We appreciated the home made wine, lemons and regular changes of towels.
I would thoroughly recommend this rental and would have no hesitation in returning if in Cinque Terre.

Above and Beyond
The room was a wee bit smaller than what we needed after 5 weeks of traveling, but our hostess Maria Piera, was so very accommodating that we were quickly happy. She met us at the train station so we wouldn't get lost. She welcomed us with her own wine, and just so much more. The nice part about this place is that it is in the center of everything... close to the trail head, close the swimming, to food, to groceries. She gave us good recommendations for dinner. The view is very beautiful. I think if I visit again, I would stay here and maybe choose the room with the veranda, but our room was very nice. We took so many of the iconic Cinque Terre town pictures, and you can see the beautiful house and our window in them, even our laundry drying on the balcony upstairs. I still cannot believe our hostess helped us with that, but boy was I ever grateful. Seriously. An overall excellent hostess.

The Haves & The Have Nots
This area and this guesthouse have a lot but there are some have nots. We'd love this place a whole lot more if it had a chair lift.
Advice #1 Don't arrive late, after all the restaurants are closed. The darkness masks the beauty while you step rather fearfully, sharply up & twistingly down, all leading to an unknown. Then Angelo graciously carries the luggage with a constant reassurance that "you can do it", in Italian. He certainly can!! but in your heart of hearts you wish he'd drop the luggage and carry you!
Tomorrow we will find out what it costs to abandon our car in the parking lot which is far enough away when going down hill but then there is the heart-challenging return uphill.
The apartment is great but Maria was away. Note how many of the reviews mention her attentiveness.
The refrigerator appears new as is the gas stove. Of course! Who wants to drag food up that hill. I don't think there has ever been food in that sparkling refer.
Advice #2: Come sometime before you are in your 70's. Bring no luggage. Consider a 5-star hotel to pamper you after a walk around the block. Or, visit Cinque Terre by sea or helicopter. The train helps get you here but you are at the top of the hill and the return is challenging for every age.
