Our “home” in Chiusa/Klausen

After a two night stay, my wife commented it was more like visiting friends than staying in a hotel. The Park has been family owned for nearly 50 years. The brothers couldn’t have been more attentive to our wishes. The. Hotel is very comfortable, convenient parking, quiet garden and pool.
The old town of Chiusa is perhaps the most quaint of any in the Dolomites; decorated in colored umbrellas it had a special charm

Very mixed review

When we arrived at Parkhotel Post, at best the staff could be described as disinterested, at worst you could say downright rude. Unhelpful is an understatement. A request for extra pillows (needed for medical reasons) wasn’t well received, and it took two more requests before a staff member very reluctantly took some from the room next to ours.
When we woke up in the morning there was no hot water and no staff within the entire hotel to assist. We finally got hot water about an hour after getting up.
Then conversely, breakfast was great and the lady serving food and coffee was cheerful and friendly, as was the man on the front desk.
Our room facing the town square was adequate, but no more than that.
We are not high-maintenance travellers, and will put up with less than 100% because we know that things don’t always go right, but I wouldn’t return to the Parkhotel Post. I’m fairly certain there are better options in the town.

Old Fashioned Comfortable Hotel

Stayed here on a bike tour. Quirky, old fashioned hotel in handy central location. Friendly welcome and good breakfast buffet. Attic style room was quiet and comfortable but ergonomically not so good - take care when moving around the room not to crash into ceiling or furniture (obviously I did and still have the scar to remember it). All up a very nice nights accommodation.

Comfortable hotel, helpful staff

We stayed one night on a bike tour. This is an older style, traditional hotel. Our room had a pleasant outlook over the central square and was big enough to store things and sit on the couch. Bed was comfortable with good linen. Bathroom was small and a bit dark. Breakfast was fine (full marks for the fresh juice machine). Staff were helpful and pleasant.

Central location

Handy location on a main plaza. Comfortable spacious rooms & free wifi. Lovely gardens at the rear of the property. Our room faced the plaza hence it was not possible to leave the windows open because of noise - a rear facing room would have been preferable. Dinner was excellent.
