Great B&B

Claudia and Alex are extremely friendly hosts, super sweet and very helpful. They are always there if you need anything. They have two adorable kids and a cute cat who loves to get into your room (it you let her) and talks to you for 10 minutes. The place is in a very nice and central area with loads of good restaurants and bars basically just around the corner. Oh, and it’s beautifully furnished and decorated.
Before you book please consider you are staying in a bed-and-breakfast. Remember that you live with a family in an apartment. Remember what you pay for this because it’s a bargain for what you get. If this is not your thing book a hotel. If you want something different and understand what a B&B is go for this one.

B&B Maison Decò - Catania

It is located in the city center so convenient for visiting Catania, but on a street with a lot of traffic and therefore very noisy. The landlady who lives in the structure with her family is kind and hospitable. Some things in particular for breakfast should be reviewed.

Incredibly good value with the warmest of welcomes

Location: in easy walking distance of all the sights and conveniently on/near many bus routes, including the all-important Alibus (airport bus). Lovingly restored and quirkily painted rooms full of character. The B&B has a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Rooms are clean, spacious and airy, providing all the basics (plus toiletries). Breakfast consists of Italian breakfast goodies and is partly DIY, so no pressure to eat at a set time. All in all, it was incredibly good value. Claudia is exceptionally welcoming and warm and couldn’t have been more helpful. She showed genuine empathy when I became somewhat stressed due to my numerous flight cancellations (various strikes) – and without the consistently reliable wi-fi I’d have had major problems. The icing on the cake: when Claudia found a lost item of mine, which was of great sentimental value, she without hesitation sent it to me in London by secure mail, refusing to accept any payment for her trouble and expenses.

What a pleasant stay!

I just wish to add another to the mostly positive reviews about this place. It was the good reviews that made us choose this place (apart from the obvious charm of this place). We liked it because we like the fun, the quirky and the unusual. Claudia and Alex were very welcoming and so was the cat. The position of the b & b is excellent as its adjacent to via etnea where one can shop and even visit the market and some excellent restaurants on foot. The parking service was very good as its right downstairs in this palazzo. If you like antique buildings that are full of charm with handpainted furniture, original floors and sculpted ceilings then look no further. We hope to return next time we're in Catania.

B&B extrordinaire

Dear Reader
This is not your usual B&B experience. Your room is in a huge historical apartment hosted by a very kind person Claudia, her sister, and not forgetting her wonderful il Cato!! (cat). Décor and
Furnishings are personally painted by the host and artist. Very good location just a 2 min walk to the main Duomo and the fish market - a must on your visit here. This is a cheap and good base to stay to visit other places within easy reach by train/bus such as Taormina (1 hour by train). Taormina's prices charges for food and drinks doubles that of Catania.. The downside - breakfast I think is typically Sicilian - just cakes and self-service coffee machine but there are ample cafes nearby - she's hardly charged a fortune so you can't expect the world. Loos a bit noisy. But overall this was very good!!
