excellent and will recommend
It was an excellent experience staying in the Hotel as the food ambience the service and overall the accessibility toward Padmanabhaswami temple Museum ,Kovalam beach etc is very easy to commute .It is also very near to Railway station ,Bus station and airport .

Terrible experience 0/10
A terrible experience staying at this hotel. Rather it must be called a hostel. The electrical sockets in the room are British Standard Type G sockets, so none of the standard Indian phone charging plugs can be used. The fridge doesnt work either. And the rooms do not have any fan. In case of loss of power, one must suffocate. The guy Aswin and the lady at reception are terrible too. The AC doesnt work properly and in peak summer without fan one must suffocate.

Average, book only if this is last option for stay
We booked two rooms for the family at the last minute and did not check the pictures or reviews before thinking this is a three star.
Staff:
The staff is polite and helpful.
About rooms:
One room was big but the other was smaller. Both rooms did not have fans, only AC. Smaller room had many issues , the wheel chair was partially broken, no dental kits were given until we asked for them. No paper napkins or tissues were there in both the rooms. Hot water in both the rooms was not available 24x7, they have solar heaters so it was almost cold early in the morning and for the early morning Padmanabhaswamy temple visit we were late because staff provided hot water in buckets one by one. Room service was helpful after we asked for it.
Food:
Breakfast was complimentary. Food was average, but made fresh. They have open kitchen where the caterers cook it in front of us. It is provided on the open rooftop setup. While eating many crows keep on coming for the food, one cannot eat peacefully - ambiance is average.
While checking out they did not provide the feedback form even when we asked for it. Looks like they don’t even want to improve their service or care about the customers’ experience. They charged us 4000per room but did not feel worth our money during our stay.

Very Bad hotel - money mongers
FRAUDSTERS in Play!!!! Please be careful…
I had booked this hotel through MakeMyTrip around 3 months prior the actuk travel date. The booking was confirmed and it was during Attukal Pongala festival season.
They waited for us to arrive at hotel, with just the seasonal price hike in mind, they told us “your booking is not valid, if you have an issue, take it up with Makemytrip “
Course of events:
1. A receptionist took the Makemytrip booking, said “let me look for the room”, and started searching for the rooms in their system
2. A Sr. Reception staff came, looked at our booking price and told to the receptionist, check “WE DONT HAVE ROOMS, staring at the person searching the system”
3. They then said in one voice, they had closed their MakeMyTrip account and this was a mistake from MakeMyTrip.
This is was completely false because I was able to see their listing on MakeMyTrip as they were saying this. This was all pre-determined to squeeze in some more cash out of festive season bookings
They had already backfilled the booked rooms at a higher price during a seasonal spike. I was travelling with my pregnant wife and was stranded on the road because of these money mongers.
We were asking them about the ropes tied around the hotel, typically that’s how they block space for attukal pongala. On enquiry, they told us is that, the owner of the hotel had blocked the main areas surrounding hotel for themselves, their family and friends. So when I asked where will the people who had booked the rooms put pongala. Their response was “they can search for some place somewhere else - 500mtrs away in some street”
I am writing such a detailed review on this because people who are trying to book Akhil classic (fraudsters) for any seasonal event, make sure you book directly from them or my request is to book somewhere else , this hotel is overrated and overpriced priced, with poor service. There are no senior personnel in the hotel who can help you out during any such crisis, there were only a couple of dumbass people who were saying the same thing over and over again, stating they had closed their account with MakeMyTrip.

We had been booking the same hotel every year from 2018. I am guessing, some management change had happened some time post-corona season.
This event that I mentioned happened during February 2024.
What changed recently?
1. Poor service - ruthless and careless staff
2. Food quality had deteriorated significantly
(There was a time in 2018, when Akhil classic staff would pack our breakfast and keep it separately for us to complete the festival activities and wait for us to complete the pongala. They used to help us set up pongala, guide us and support us.
Fast forward to now, they don’t care if we eat, complete the ritual or stray on the road!!!!
If the FRAUDSTERS from Akhil classic are reading this , instead of stranding a family with a pregnant person on the road, you could have asked for a some extra premium stating there is a festival hike. This would have been more dignified.

Need urgent pest control and staff is not welcoming
When I arrived i was welcomed by a rude lady called Sunju who didn’t even smile.She couldn’t locate my booking and made me wait without any explanation for half an hour asking non relevant questions
Finally she found my booking which was made one month before via booking.com and didn’t even apologize for her incompetence for not knowing her bacis. She didn’t give me the wifi password and didn’t inform the breakfast was included.Expecting guests should know what they have booked attitude.Shouldn’t be welcoming guests with this wrong attitude and clearly need basic hospitality training
Moreover the room needs pest control as there is a lot of cockroaches and small insects,definitely need a pest control.Next day this was shared with Jason at the desk and he just noded!
Only good thing happened during my stay is the kohinoor restaurant food,that’s worth the try otherwise its not recommended at all
