Azad House Boat we booked thru a reference over phone speaking to Mr Azad the owner.
The Boat can be reached from Dal Lake Ghat No - 17 . There was no Sign board in this boat though all other houseboats had sign boards with their Names.
I have stayed in a different Houseboat 8 years back also and this time we stayed in Azad Houseboat for 2 nights (15th June - 17th June) but the quality of stay , food and service did not meet our expectation. We paid Rs 4000/- per night.
Room is good and neat , Bathroom is small with all amenities but It seems the boat is not being maintained properly , when ever you walk makes noise. Food quality is very basic and they wont cater as per your order and choice. Service is provided by one single young boy who has no training of service , even he has no understanding of our requests and needs. We ordered for something and were served something different as per their sweet wish.
During our stay we never met the owner even once and found him to be very arrogant when we shared our discomfort over phone and he was not at all bothered about our requests.
Overall very poor experience and wont recommend any one to stay in this House boat.
