DECENT HOTEL FOR SHORT STAYS

stayed for a day in this hotel , centrally located close to railway station , shopping area etc.rooms were adequately spaced, well lit neatly maintained including floors, walls, upholestry with 42 inches flat screen TVs in all rooms with all major channels, has got an inbuilt restauratn through which room service is offered from 0530 am to 1100 pm.service is good only disadvantage i could seee is that the restaurant is a kerala style restaurant offering only that particular menu, which would be a minus

Decent Budget Hotel

My friend booked this hotel in February 2015 as a last resort as the whole of Mangalore hotels had been booked for an international Doctor's conference. Since then I had stayed in this hotel four times it was convenient and very good for the budget. The rooms are clean, the staff courteous and nice and have a restaurant on the ground floor. Food is brought to the rooms if asked for and decent menu too.
It is good for a business class traveler for one or two days. But I did not like the toilets near the entrance door and I found that there is no exhaust fan and that makes it smelly as you enter. But the rooms and toilets are always kept clean and neat. Complimentary Breakfast, of course, you cannot choose and there is no variety and is brought to the room.
You have to stop your vehicle on the road, no parking area but its safe and the security takes care of it.
Overall its a penny's worth.

Decent Budget Hotel for solo travellers

This Hotel is near to Mangalore Central Railway Station - just 5 minutes walking distance. It is a decent buget hotel prefereably for solo travellers. For family - I would not suggest this Hotel as rooms are not that spacious and absence of a Lift would be a problem for senior citizens. Hotel is very nearby to Hampankatta - heart of Mangalore city and all major shopping destinations are near by.
The Hotel was started somewhere in 1997-2000 period and had got renovation for some rooms last year. Normally I prefer this Hotel on my official trips due to its proximity to Central Railway Station and also budget pricing. A double AC room costs Rs. 800 and 24 hours check out facility is available. Rooms are not that spacious but okay comparing the price. There are some spacious Suite rooms, where family occupancy can be an option, if accommodation is not available elsewhere.
A good Kerala restaurant is available on the ground floor of the hotel and room service is also available. Room service is not that prompt - one would have to phone the reception a minimum of 2 times before food is served. Hot water facility is available during morning hours and laundry service is also available. On line reservation is not there and one can book over phone 0824 - 2448611.
It is advised to have an inspection of the room before check in as some rooms are still not renovated and those rooms have a dampen smell and plastering is peeling off the walls. Normally, I have never faced dirty bed spreads or blankets. I had taken visitors to my rooms plenty of times and had never faced any treatment like that was described in the last review.
Better opt for rooms not facing the road as noise from passing vehicles will be an issue in the rooms facing the road.
To sum up, this is a good budget hotel with no frills attached, especially for solo travellers

Worst Experience ever.

I had a visitor, who also happens to be my cousin brother visit me at my room. In fact i had gone out shopping and he dropped me back to the hotel and i invited him to my room. After few mins I get a call on the room phone telling me that vistors are not allowed. And he wanted the visitor to leave immediately, So i asked the guy on the phone (who happens to be the receptionist), what kinda of a hotel is this. He then replies, "your guest has to leave immediately, I told him this is no rule, and if there was a rule that, no vistors are allowed, then, that should have been told to me at the time of check in. He hung up. And called back after a minute, asking me to just check out immediately. I told him i was ready to do that, as long as my money was refunded. He said, he cant refund the money and then threatened me that he will call the police. I told him to go ahead and do so. He was such a arrogant guy. So i went down to the reception and confronted him. He wasn't bothered to even listen, all he did was yelled and kept saying, no visitors are allowed. And I told him that, if only i was informed about this rule, I wouldnt have even checked into this place. All he has to say to this was, the guy at the time of my check in , forgot to inform me. Is this how a staff at a hotel should behave to their customers?? . what rule is this, that no visitors are allowed? How can a receptionist threaten you? People reading this, never opt for this hotel or even recommend this to anyone. This is the worst ever hotel i have been to.
