Nice place to stay

We had a very pleasant stay for a few days. Located in a very good neighborhood, the room was well furnished, neat and clean with adequate facilities.Good service, the housekeeping was as expected. Very courteous staff and helpful. Good value for money.

Worst experience ever. Very bad staff. Manager misbehaving with guests.

Very bad staff. Especially the Manager was misbehaving with the guests. I do not recommend anyone to stay here, if the staff doesn't know the minimum courtesy of how speak to their guest's. The manager used abusive language with my sister when we protested.

At the time of group check out ( 5 Th march) i was told them please control your child. if some thing happen who will responsible.
As a manager we never use any kind of language. That time two lady angry me and she use abusive language.
In my life i never seen this type of language can use any lady or girls.

A great homestay experience with convenience of a hotel

A fantastic guesthouse with the spirit of a homestay. Starting from their Manager, Biswarup, his entire team is ever smiling and ever ready to ensure that our stay was not just comfortable, but more like staying with the family.
The location is super convenient. For those that live shopping Gariahat is less than a skip hop and jump away. For the foodies there are a lot to explore. We lived Bunaphil, Tero Parbon and Azad Hind Dhaba. There are many more to choose from.
Access to anywhere in Kolkata was easy, a uber call away. More importantly, Biswarup and team will arrange for cars that are punctual and very couteous drivers.
The place offers daily housekeeping, complimentary breakfast. You can even order lunch and dinner. You have to order a bit early because, believe it or not, they first take your order and then go for the day's fresh picks. The cook is decent and the food is good home cooked food. While two bottles of water per day is complimentary, they do provide bottles at a nominal cost too.
Overall it was a great stay and highly recommended !!!

A great guesthouse

55B is excellently situated in a quiet part of town with plenty of trendy shops, coffeehouses and eateries nearby. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. Each morning we were served with delicious curries and breads, in a communal area that gave the guesthouse a special community feel. I can highly recommend 55B for your next stay in the City of Joy.

An extremely nice experience!

My wife and I spent almost two months at the 55B Guest House in Hindustan Park in Kolkata. It was such a happy experience. What made it particularly pleasant was the sweet, helpful, courteous and cheerful behaviour of their efficient staff. They went out of their way to make us comfortable.
We would like to compliment Mr Biswaroop Bhaumik, the kind and friendly manager of the guest house. He is very competent and approachable. and addressed all our needs promptly. Thank you, Mr Bhaumik, for making our stay so memorable.
Our thanks also to the other members of his staff like Messrs Probir, Sachin, Babui, Pintoo, Sagar, Shombu, and, of course, Surojit, their wonderful chef - a master of a variety of cuisines - who cooks Chinese dishes as effortlessly as he does a South Indian thayir sadam or dosa or upma, or a North Indian butter chicken or biriyani. His Bengali dishes, too, are wonderful.
Thank you again, 55B. May you always remain as sought after as you are today, and may thousands of visitors enjoy your exemplary hospitality.
