Surprisingly good hotel in Gangtok, Sikkim
We got a great deal to stay in The Pinecrest Hotel at a surprisingly discounted price of Rs 1200. The hotel is located in the Tadong area of Gangtok city. You would easily get cabs from this hotel wherever you want to go in and around the city. The hotel was very new when we went. The rooms were big, almost like suite rooms. As it was newly built, the rooms and bathrooms were extremely neat and clean. They provide breakfast in the hotel located just opposite to it, The Regal Hotel. The breakfast was okayish, not quite a buffet but they had the basic menu. They even provide in-room dining. The service was good but there are rooms for improvement. I felt there were shortages of staff, otherwise the service could have been even better. I recommend this hotel considering the good low cost rooms they provide. I bet you would hardly get these kinds of rooms anywhere else in Gangtok at this price.
