My experience at Deodar

Our stay at deodar homestay in almora was truly memorable. The location is absolutely beautiful surrounded by lush greenery and top of the hill, and breathtaking views that make it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The cool and pleasant weather added to the overall charm of the place.
The rooms were exceptionally clean, well maintained and very comfortable. The ambience was peaceful, relaxing and ideal for spending quality time with family and friends.
One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious home like food. Every meal was fresh, flavorful and prepared with great care, giving us a true taste of hospitality. The service was outstanding, and the hosts went out of their way to ensure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
The friendly pet dogs were added delight. They were affectionate, well behaved and made the stay more engaging and special for our children.
A special highlight of the property is temperature controlled swimming pool. The pool was well maintained, clean and added tremendous value to our stay.
Over, this homestay offers the perfect combination of prime location (ample of parking space as well), spectacular views and surroundings, comfortable rooms, excellent food, temperature controlled swimming pool, warm hospitality and peaceful atmosphere. It is one of the best places to stay in almora and value for money. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a pleasant, relaxing, and memorable mountain getaway. We look forward to visiting again soon.

sylvan sanctuary

This homestay is worthy of a 11 on 10 marking. The six room-spa- kitchen with cook boasts of classical architecture nestled amidst eight acres of deodar forest. It is located on the hillock near the circuit house and the cantonment which makes it althemore peaceful and secure.
We were graciously hosted by Mr Shekhar and was cared by the warm and hospitable Mr Prakash and his team, who cooked us sumptuous meals and made us feel homely and comfortable.
Their dogs- Yuri and Oliver provided us with guided tours of the estate in exchange of endless belly rubs and hugs.
The rooms were spacious and neatlykept and modern.
The pictures wont do justice to the place and one must visit Deodar Homestays to truely enjoy their warmth and hospitality.

It was a very pleasant and comfortable stay…special thanks to Prakash ji.

A very comfortable stay…very caring staff and the hosts are also very warm and welcoming. Each and every meal we had was very delicious and were just like home cooked food. Sincere thanks to Prakash ji who is an excellent cook and also also extremely caring ! We spent 5 nights at Deodhar home stay and it was a lovely experience.

Not pet friendly towards guest pets. Misleading photographs.

Misleading photographs on Booking.com, showing clear view of snow capped mountains. In reality the view is from 10 km from the hotel. (Attached screenshot).
Claims to be pet friendly. Not true. They are not friendly towards guest's pets. We have stayed at lot of pet friendly hotel the likes of Hyatt Regency, Taj, Grand Mercure, Vivanta, Radisson and none of them cancelled our booking saying pet can not get on bed.

A high quality Homestay in an island of tranquility

Deodar Homestay is an old colonial bungalow wonderfully located in the wooded and peaceful environs of Almora Cantonment. The charming old bazaars of Almora are a comfortable walk away. The rooms are large and comfortable with good quality linen and open onto a lovely verandah with extensive grounds around the building. The team led by Prakash deliver great food and outstanding service. A special thanks to the owner, Shekhar, who embodies rare old world charm and outstanding hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.
