Biggest knock is that the street the entry is on is pedestrian only and the only places to park are pay lots during the day.
But they do have a laundry room.

Hotel is located in a great area of Akureyri! Easy to walk around and plenty of great dining and shopping options nearby. The hotel itself has a restaurant/bar with good food. Our room was decent and what we needed for our one-night stay.

Very convenient location. The only downside was that the parking lot wasn’t right next to the hotel, so still had to drag suitcases for about two minutes. Very cheerful and friendly staff. Well-equipped kitchenette and a modern-style bathroom. Comfortable bed. Reasonably clean room.

Great room and location, but terrible service and no proper reception

We stayed here for one night in July as a family (my wife, my son, and I). Unfortunately, our experience was not the best.
The Negatives:
The biggest issue is that the hotel does not have a proper reception area. It feels more like a restaurant that happens to have rooms to sleep in. Check-in was done at the bar counter with absolutely no structure for guests. The staff during check-in was confusing and unfriendly. To get to our room, we had to drag our luggage between tables right in the middle of customers who were eating, which was a very awkward and bad experience.
Later that night, we went down to reserve a table for dinner, and the customer service was terrible once again. The staff was genuinely rude. They brusquely told us the restaurant was full, that they couldn't take reservations, and that we could just sit at the bar. It wasn't just the lack of tables; it was the poor, impolite tone they used. We ended up leaving and eating somewhere else.
The next morning at breakfast, the restaurant floor was sticky, showing a lack of care with cleanliness. The service at breakfast, however, was a bit better. For check-out, we simply handed over our room card and left.
The Positives:
On the bright side, the room was spacious, well-equipped, and very quiet. The bathroom was also large and had an excellent shower. The location is great—very central and close to everything you might need.
Conclusion & Suggestion:
Overall, we would not return and would not recommend it to other travelers. As a suggestion to the management: you desperately need to create a separate reception area for the hotel so guests don't have to squeeze through restaurant tables with their bags. And most importantly, the customer service and staff attitude need a major improvement.

Excellent

Excellent stay at Centrum Hotel! The newly renovated room was beautiful, exceptionally spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was spotless, and the large bathroom and shower were a real highlight. The hotel bar had a cool, comfortable atmosphere, making it a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing, and the food was very good. The location is excellent, with plenty of shopping right on the block and two food trucks just across the street for convenient late-night bites or a quick meal. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Centrum Hotel to anyone visiting Reykjavík.
