I will come back

Clean hotel. Good value for money, decent service, very welcoming staff. To be encouraged in these difficult times, Conakry has been complicated since the explosion of the fuel depot in December.

Hotel has seen better days

This hotel seems like it may have been nice in the past but is now in need of a serious upgrade. The rooms are alright, though the towels are more grey than white, the bedding is frayed, and there are plenty of bumps and scuffs on the walls. There was a large gap between the door and the frame to the balcony. At least the air conditioning worked well.
The service in this hotel can be quite variable. Some staff members are solid and helpful, others not so much. For example, it took 3 requests and approximately one hour to get 2 beach towels for the pool. Another time we had a question for the front desk. The gentleman kept watching videos on his phone at full volume, while asking us to repeat the request multiple times.
The hotel is by the port/industrial area, so not a good location if you want to walk around and explore Conakry.

One of the best in Guinea

It is one of a few good hotels in Guinea. It is not cheep if you think about Guinean as such but comparable to European prices. The hotel offers free airport pick up. I did not have to wait for the pick up, when arrived, which was already a plus. The hotel offers spacious rooms with welcoming drink and hot water in the shower, including shampoo and shower gel. Besides shower, I also had a bath tub. AC is properly working. You can also relax at the pool, water looks clean. The personnel at the reception was helpful and could communicate in English. The breakfast is ok. You can even order an omelet for no additional price. The restaurant is fine, nothing special. A locker on the door in my room was broken. An excursion to the islands close to Conakry can be arranged at the reception but the prices are much higher compared to the port. You can either go alone to the islands for 130 euro or so, if no one else from the hotel wants to join you. Alternatively, you can go to the port and negotiate the price to 70-75 euro, if you wish to visit all 3 islands. I would recommend to stay at Ile Room, two other bigger islands are not so impressive.

All the restaurant staff were excellent and also the food. The reception staff were extremly poor. I arranged for a car to pick me up at the airport, they forgot, i asked five times to repair the safe, it is still not working. I was unable to turn of a light in my room to sleep. I had to go down twice to get somebody to do it.
Very strange, the hotel was trying to be a classy property but it was on a causeway in the docks. The only way out was through an encampment, over railway lines and through building sites. As the encampment had no sanitation everything went into the water. Because this was almost completely closed by the causeway nothing was swept away by the tides.
