Very pleasant week
I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. The family was super friendly and warm hearted pelple and the service was excelent also. Our room were tidy and confortable to stay at with good air conditioning which came in a clutch during evening heat. The hotel is located in a beautiful mountain area near beach with affordable restaurants nearby.

Best family time
Anthi and Mr Sakis are the best of hosts . Young and enthusiastic. Food was excellent and try and eat the big big pizza if you can.
Eating around the pool was great. Great relaxing atmosphere from a family run business.

The real Greece
The family make this place 5* and I have stayed in a lot of 5*hotels.
You might not have the fancy room etc but if you want a real genuine Greek holiday this is the place.
Don’t want to say too much and spoil for us as it’s the most peaceful place in the world. Five mins walk to the beach.
Maria even done our washing for us ❤️ nothing is too much trouble for them.
See you next year….

A Pearl in the Dodecanese
We initially booked for one night at Villa Maria as part of a yachting holiday . The winds and extreme temperatures cut the sailing aspect of the holiday short however this is not the reason we stayed for 6 nights in total .
Maria , Michaelangelo and Anthi made our visit so special we just didn’t want to leave .
The apartments were spacious , beautifully decorated , with well equipped kitchenettes and fabulous air conditioning . Very good value .
The pool was lovely and clean , the pool bar , a lot of fun and this is where we spent most of the time in the shade when temperatures topped 42/43 degrees .
Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating , lovely menu , Maria’s Canneloni and souvlaki plate being the highlight of the stay.
Michelangelo’s mojitos were the best I’ve ever had .
Maria & Anthi included us in their family celebrations and went over and above to give us the most memorable stay .
Michelangelo blew us away with his attention to details , fabulous service and most of all , his friendship .
It is rare that I find somewhere so welcoming and I will be back .

Gem of a Hotel
Just love this place. We have been twice and booked for next year. So where do I start?
I don't normally write reviews but feel I have got to stop wanting to keep this brilliant villa just for us.
If you want to wake up to the sound of goats bells ringing while the shepherd takes them off to graze for the day and to experience true Greek hospitality Villa Maria in Vlychadia, Kalymonos is the place to go.
The food is the best we have ever had in Greece all freshly cooked food with great service served by the pool in beautiful surroundings.
Maria's cooking is to die for and always made fresh with the best ingredients available, nothing is too much trouble for her and she made sure our little boy who is a really fussy eater was looked after cooking a special meal for him with a nice big ice cream for afters.
My favoured was Greek Salad with Pastitsio, the Greek salad is amazing and very large.
The food is cheap and the best in Vlychadia.
From the moment you arrive you are made to feel like family.
We had a long delay 10 hrs in Athens but Sakis was waiting for us as we arrived and got ( God knows how) all our luggage into his car and even though it was late Maria and Anthi had a meal ready for us.
The rooms are spotless and have everything that you would need if you wanted to cook, but you would be mad to cook with a private chef just down the stairs.
Beds are very comfortable and bed linen changed every other day or every day if Maria had her way. The 2 bedrooms villa has bunk beds for kids with cute kids bed linen and the double room has a lovely balcony which is nice to sit out on with a glass of wine while kids sleep.
The pool is big and very clean with a diving board, our kids aged 6 & 8 loved diving in and messing around pool. There never was a problem having to get up early to put towels on sunbeds and some days we felt like we had our own private pool.
Anthi Maria's daughter was always around looking after us and jumping into pool to play with our two kids who just loved her, while her boyfriend Saki made sure my husband was kept entertained with intellectual conversation.
We travel a lot staying in 5* hotels with all the facilities kids love but when we asked our kids where they wanted to go on holidays this year they both wanted to go and see Maria, Anthi & Saki.
That just about says it all, so happy mummy, daddy and kids.
Vlychadia is about 4 mins walk away with a lovely beach and four nice taverns, you can hire canoes and paddle around in the calm waters.
Kalymonos town is about 10 mins taxi ride away and nice to have a walk around the harbour but we could never drag our kids away from Maria's.
So if you want to have peaceful break with great company, great food & accommodation this is the place to go.
