Super hotel in scenic surroundings
Super location and a great view from the room. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean with a nice large balcony overlooking the bay and to the nearest islands. Daily cleaning of the room as well as the outdoor areas.

Wonderful place
A really very beautiful place, a crazy view with amenities like a pool and access to the sea, which is no small thing, very kind staff, especially the girl at the bar near the pool. I would just expand the breakfast a little, especially regarding the drinks.

The Team at the Hotel are great. It’s a 10min walk into Sivota, and a 5min walk down to a superb island beach (complete with goats). The pool was excellent and the access to the sea via the deck was a great inclusion. Best of all the view…. Wow

Disappointing. Unwelcoming staff and poorly maintained property, not a 4 star hotel
We read many positive reviews about this hotel before booking a two week stay here in July 2026. We were so disappointed and can honestly not understand the good reviews from other guests.
The positive part first:
The sea view from our room (high floor) and from the pool was spectacular. Nice platform right at the waterfront for sunbathing and swimming in clear water was great. Perfect location with walking distance to Sivota town which had many good restaurants, bars and shops.
But then: Property was poorly kept and maintained, totally overpriced and not at all a 4 star standard, more like a 2 star hotel or a camping site. Discarded equipment and general clutter around reception area. The reception itself could have been mistaken for a garden shack - a tiny building with no seating/lounge area as required for a 4* hotel. Cars parked all over the property. Clean towels delivered in black carbage bags outside your door. One day we saw a rat! There were many visible rat traps all over the property. A broken toaster in the breakfast lounge that was not replaced during our long stay. A serious issue was that both of our rooms had electrical faults resulting in electric shocks when you touched the walls! But the worst thing about this hotel was the staff. There simply seemed to be too few employees for the size of the property. The pool bar was often unattended, not to mention the platform down at the waterfront. The atmosphere was generally not welcoming, and on several occasions staff came across as indifferent or even rude. At various times we saw employees sunbathing, swimming in the pool and eating breakfast alongside guests, which made the operation feel extremely disorganised and unprofessional.
In short: This is not a 4 star hotel. The service, the staff and the property are just not up to a 4 star standard. You don't get what you pay for.

A resort with incredible potential, but sadly a shadow of its former self
We stayed at Costa Smeralda as a family and left very disappointed.
The first thing that stands out is the location, which is genuinely beautiful. The sea views, the swimming platform, the peaceful atmosphere and the surrounding nature are exactly what you hope for when visiting Sivota. You can tell that this resort must have been something truly special many years ago.
Unfortunately, today it feels like a sad shell of what it probably once was.
Our room had several maintenance issues from the moment we arrived. The bathroom leaked onto the floor, the toilet wasn't functioning properly, the sink drainage had become disconnected, and even the mirror light didn't work. We asked for another room immediately after arrival, but none were available. To the hotel's credit, maintenance did respond, but many of the issues should never have been present in a four-star resort to begin with. It seems like the maintenance comes only, if the customers point something out.
The feeling extends beyond the room. As you walk around the property, you notice signs of years of underinvestment. Outdoor lights that once illuminated the buildings and walls are broken or switched off. Gardens that were clearly designed with care are no longer maintained to the same standard. Grass is dry or overgrown in places, and many details throughout the resort look weathered and tired.
What makes it especially sad is that you can see that the resort definitely was a premium resort years ago. Instead of feeling luxurious, it now feels like a beautiful property waiting for someone to restore it to its former glory. The resort is clearly understaffed and I feel sorry for the employees.
I also want to give credit where it is due. During our stay, we contacted the management regarding our experience. They handled our complaint professionally and agreed to compensate us with a partial refund. That gesture showed they do care about their guests' experience and I sincerely appreciate their willingness to find a fair solution.
I truly hope Costa Smeralda receives the renovation and attention it deserves. With proper investment and maintenance, it could become one a great place to stay in Sivota. Right now, however, it is difficult to reconcile the beautiful setting with the current condition of the resort.
