Great view

A beautiful hotel built over several floors into the mountain.
One main pool, a small side pool, and various room options, some with private pools.
The pool bar was great, breakfast excellent!
And in 10 minutes, one can walk to the old town.

Great visit to Rethymno

This hotel is in a great location, a short walk to Old town. There is a nice beach just across the road. The room had a small fridge, kettle and coffee maker. Our room and the common places were very clean, including the pool area. We had a great view from the seventh floor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers many choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

Good but lots of room for improvement

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it, but it's far from perfect.
The hotel is built on a hill slope, making it a bit of a maze, as you have to go horizontally while climbing up to the higher floors. This means there are quite a few elevators and you'll have to get out of one, walk to the next, then go up a couple of floors, walk to the next, and so on. We got used to it and eventually just used the stairs, but it's definitely not something we've experienced before.
The rooms are fairly modern, but there's an obvious lack of attention to details. Many things are modern and well kept, but then you have rusty taps and toilet brushes, mouldy showers and wonky bathroom door handles. Another annoying thing was that the safe was on the very bottom shelf, so we had to get on our bellies to use it - awkward for us, impossible for others. These things are unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. Details matter!
Breakfast was great and had the largest variety I've experienced. Furthermore, they switched some of the items every day and there was a chef right there cooking on the spot, so you could ask for some things made to your liking (e.g. eggs). The coffee however was terrible, even for a hotel breakfast.
There is a pool that you can use, with a good few sunbeds and it was never busy. There's a pool bar as well, with a friendly professional bartender there all the time. They serve really good food too, so you don't even need to go anywhere for lunch. We were disappointed that the pool bar closes very early (7PM) as we would have wanted to have a relaxed dinner or even just drinks later there.
The hotel has a "fitness room" as well, which is an absolute joke - one threadmill, one stationary bike and 2 yoga mats in a bathroom-size room by the reception. It's by far the worst I've seen anywhere so we didn't use it at all.
Across the street there's a small beach with no amenities. We enjoyed it a couple of times and just came back to the hotel to use the shower and toilet. There is also a 24/7 kiosk nearby where you could get some drinks and snacks for the beach.
Rethymno centre is about a 20 minute walk away which is just right - close enough to walk, far enough to be quiet. There's a large supermarket about 10 minutes walk away towards Rethymno.
The staff at the reception were always friendly and helpful.
If you're driving in, there are a lot of free public parking spots nearby. Lots of them across the street, but they get filled in the evening. Luckily there are some up the hill on the right as you get out of the hotel, and parking was never an issue. There's also a petrol station right next door which is convenient.
Overall a great stay, but they should really pay attention to details. As it stands, I'd say this is more of a 3 star hotel than a 4 star, and would probably stay here again.

to far out of town, terrible food, poor service

Stayed in Rethymon many times and was ecpecting this hotel to be fairly central but it was a bus ride away. That wasnt too much of a problem as wedont mind the travel and the buses were frequent. The hotel has a really nice lady on the front desk which was very helpful. The hotel seems to be ran with a skeleton staff. The breakfast staff on the morning were hopless and dont even bother going as the breakfast was minimium and of poor quality, the coffee was awful. We went twice only and never after that. The room was ok however the shower was tiny.
The holiday was pricey and you can get much better deals cheaper in a better location and food you look forward to. Unfortunately we would never go back to this hotel.

Marvellous hotel.

An excellent hotel with very spacious rooms. The hotel is situated on a hillside with 3 separate lifts. The hotel has a small beach directly in front over the road which is really nice.
