Loved it

We popped into Hotel Avra multiple times over the course of our two week holiday as it was always on our walk down into Parga.
Really surprised by the reviews on here. As we found the service amongst the most friendly we had in Parga We loved the food and drink - particularly the pancakes and milkshakes (the Greek yoghurt one was immense) Whilst the balcony has some of the best views across the town.
Can't wait to be back when we return to Parga.

The location and view ..

Beautiful view, fantastic breakfast, note you have to pay for extra coffee even if you have breakfast included. Room fresh. Bed tight. No storage spaces.
The owner is a bit wary of guests...
The location is fantastic right in the middle of the stairs, but I will not book here again.

Cocktails were horrendous

Probably the worst cocktails I've ever tasted. We order a Pina Colada which was just coconut milk with no alcohol and a Strawberry Daiquiri which had a really dreadful taste. Save your money for somewhere else if you want to drink cocktails.

Lovely views, fantastic food, friendly owner

We visited here for a meal in August 2019 because my sister had stayed here the year before and recommended it. We’d visited her in her room that year(Aug 2018) and I got ready for my wedding there. Even though we weren’t saying there ourselves, the owner had no problem with this and even filmed me coming down his front steps (a video I wouldn’t have had otherwise so it is a lovely memory). The room was clean and had a gorgeous sea view from the little balcony. The location is great, in the old town amongst all the little shops and near the castle. The meal we had in 2019 was amazing and the view over the sea to the harbour front was beautiful. I can’t believe the reviews about poor service - we had excellent service and found the owner to be really friendly. Next time we visit Parga we will be looking to book this hotel.

Great Food, Great View, Interesting Service

The quality of the food and drink was first class and the views are stunning but I have to agree with other contributors on the “quirkiness” of the owner/waiter. Like other people have said he insisted the house wine wasn’t available and tried to press us to order a €30 bottle which would be fine on a top end restaurant but way out of kilter for a place where main courses were only around €12. We politely declined and he came back with four glasses of what to be fair was a very nice white wine but we had no idea what it was. As is par for the course here there was no written bill and he does seem to make it up as he goes along but €80 for four starters and mains plus a glass of wine each wasn’t bad value at all. If you can accept the strange service and don’t mind standing your ground on the expensive wine the food is excellent and the views are amazing. The Seafood linguine was probably the best meal I had all week
