Genuine Cretan Hospitality!
A Truly Wonderful Stay at Idi Hotel! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our stay at Idi Hotel was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of our time in Crete. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness, and the friendly atmosphere made us feel completely at home.
The hotel is set in a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by nature and the stunning mountains of Zaros. The gardens are wonderfully maintained, the pool is perfect for relaxing, and the whole property has a calm, authentic Cretan charm.
Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. Every detail contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The food was also excellent, with delicious local flavours and wonderful quality.
What truly makes Idi Hotel special, however, is the hospitality. The owners and staff are incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive. Their kindness and genuine care made our experience unforgettable.
Idi Hotel is much more than a place to stay—it is a peaceful oasis where you can experience the beauty of Crete and the warmth of true Cretan hospitality. We would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zaros.
Thank you to everyone at Idi Hotel for making our stay so memorable. We hope to see you again soon!

Perfect base for walking and enjoying Crete's nature.
The Idi hotel has been going since 1980 and this was our second stay.
It's a family business, and the hotel's restaurant is next door to the accommodation, incorporating a fish farm that breeds trout and sturgeon - so if you order fish, you know it's fresh !
10 minutes' walk brings you to Lake Zaros, and the start of a tough hiking trail up the Rouvas Gorge (a round trip of 6-7 hours). But just walking round the countryside is pleasant enough: the mountain scenery is magnificent.
Rooms have the usual facilities, though very limited TV channels, and a balcony.
Hotel has a decent swimming pool and gardens to relax in.
We went half-board: good value for money. Breakfast is a good buffet choice.
In the evenings, there was plenty of quantity (starters, salad, main course and dessert), and a different dish each day - but you had no choice.

Zaros in May.
Year 1 = one year, in July, traveling in Crete. By chance, we passed through Zaros and discovered the Idi hotel and the village. Immediate love at first sight for this little oasis at the foot of the Psiloritis mountains (south of Heraklion - 1 hour from the airport).
Year 2 = we return and stay for 3 days to enjoy the hotel's exceptional pool, discover Lake Votomos, a haven of peace, and the Rouvas gorges, among the most beautiful in Crete.
Year 3 = back on site for a week, still in July, we explore the surroundings a bit more and drive up into Psiloritis to hike at altitude among the sheep and goats. The exceptional pool and the rooms have been redone, and the garden is still as beautiful as ever.
Year 4 = this time, it is in May, with cooler weather that we discover Zaros and the enchanting walks among the olive trees amidst the colorful flowers of the region. And the most beautiful flowers are in the garden, they are the orange blossoms that particularly perfume the air. I had never had the chance to smell this fragrance outside of my bottle purchases.

A refreshing and luxurious stop.
In the heart of greenery, near a small pond, a haven of freshness among the laurel and fruit olive trees, lies a beautiful establishment that truly deserves a visit.
Pool, gardens, excellent restaurant, and very comfortable rooms. Ideal for relaxing in the midst of the island tour.
