Found a gem in Achiles!

Travelled to Methoni mid July 26 with Jet2. Have spent holidays on the Peloponnese several times in the past and visited Methoni but only for the day. So glad we came back and for 11 nights this time around, but more importantly that we chose Achiles Hotel. Everything was top notch, so very welcoming... lovely staff, really friendly from the owner/manageress through to receptionists and lovely maid.... everyone had a smile on their faces. Breakfast is more than adequate for continental style and also such as eggs (sometimes scrambled sometimes fried or omelette) bacon which actually was very nice, albeit not that warm at times and sausages etc. Fresh fruit, breads, Greek Yoghurt, pastries, cake, honey & jams, toast bread/toaster... plus Greek delights such as Tyropita, Spanakopita, Bougatsa etc too. I have probably missed stuff off but sure you get the picture - you will certainly not go hungry in a morning!!! There is also fresh juice, tea and coffee. The rooms are seviced everyday, fresh bedding and towels every 3 I think. Everything so very clean and fresh throughout. The air conditioning we had was among the best we have had in Greece anywhere to be honest. Mozzie screen at the patio doors. Our bed was comfortable and we slept really well. Maybe the ouzo night caps helped!!! As one of our party had slight mobility issues we asked for, an got, a gound floor room which was no 1 and a lovely room too, massive balcony with drying racked table and chairs. Plenty of drawer space and wardrobe space although doorless. Lots of shelves too and a small but adequate fridge and safe. Fridge worked brilliantly. Plenty of plug sockets etc. Our room as said was ground floor and suitable for disabled, large walk in shower with plenty of hot water and great pressure...... there is a ramp for wheelchair access to the side of Hotel. Although room 1 (our room) was on ground floor and was road facing there was no noise at all at night even though a grill house next door with seating almost opposite - hardly heard a peep from there even during world cup!! Hotel bar is open lateish most nights but bar is pretty limited. We only used for a quick nightcap some nights. We found the Grill place Ionio next door great, used for early doors beers - they open at 5, so ideal for a couple of cool downs after leaving the beach, also lovely food served evenings too....... Beach is situated only about an 8 - 10 minutes walk away as is the castle. Adding on - guests can use the gorgeous pool up at the Sister Hotel Achiles Hill which we did several times for the day, but be aware it's a good trek up there without transport... we used our scooter so were fine!!
Would we return - yes most certainly at some point in the future and would use this Hotel again without a second thought

Achilles is still the king of the Peloponnese

The Achilles is well situated at the centre of town right next to some fine restaurants. Staff are amazing and friendly. All in all a very relaxing experience. Rooms and facilities are all clean and tidy. Beds are very comfortable. Could barely hear any noise from other guests. Nearby attractions take a little energy however are nothing short of amazing

3 minute walk to a lovely beach. Room cleaned every day and fresh towels. Breakfast with plenty of choice . Really friendly and helpful staff. Will return

If you like a small family hotel you will love Achilles.

I am about to travel back home from Achilles hotel Methoni. The Hotel is more of a family run guest house. All the staff are like a big family. Rooms are great. Very clean everywhere. Nothing is too much for them.
Like all the other reviews I don't have a word of criticism.
Short walk to beach. Around 10-11 Greek restaurants in the area. No Chinese or Indian restaurants and definitely no McDonald's. No disco's or late entertainment. No high-rise buildings.
Methoni is like going back in time. Historically mind blowing. Massive ruins 16th century castle/fortress.
Only two streets. Very peaceful.
I will definitely be back.

Immaculate

First of all it is renovated and elegant, it is also very spacious and comfortable from the reception space to the rooms..The breakfast is quality and every day with something different. My own rating is an extra star in the three kinds that this business has...
