Amazing holiday
Perfect location with a very laid back atmosphere. Room with balcony very comfortable and cleaned daily by Emanuella who was so lovely. We went with TUI and it was excellent value for money. The buffet breakfast and evening meal had lots of choice from cooked Cretan dishes to simpler fare plus delicious salads. The bar meals at lunchtime were great….be warned that, as with everything else, they are very generous . We’d love to thank all the staff but Giannis in particular gave us a laugh with his stories.
The hotel is ideally placed for access to the town and beach but around half a mile away so very peaceful. It was such a friendly place that we were already thinking of a repeat visit at the end of our first day!

Very nice modern hotel.
We stayed at Matala Bay with friends. We also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel buffet. Everything was very good. The rooms are modern, but unlike our friends, despite having booked a triple room at the hotel four months in advance, we were moved to an apartment across the street that was not fully renovated. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we had booked. It seemed to me a common practice of the hotel in case of overbooking... In response to my complaints, they offered us free drinks at dinner. The one star less that I give is for this. It is not correct to book, pay in advance, and when you arrive, have something different from what you booked.

Difficult to evaluate
We had an upgrade in the room category so my statement on price performance may not be quite correct.
Location : top optimal, you are quickly in the center still has its peace
Pool: clean well organized but not too warm. Frapee am Pool. Was watery, pizza very good
Breakfast : very good selection for Greek conditions, taste and perceived quality were only mid-range
Service : the packed lunch already requested for arrival did not work,
Personal : top
Rooms: we slept very well, although the rooms would not be harmed by an overhaul.
Price performance : still good considering the upgrade and the positive overall impression. Whether I would have been happy about the standard room... I don't know.

Very nice hotel
The hotel is a good choice for a short break, very clean, centrally located, the food was very good, the staff was very friendly with one exception (the receptionist at the reception).
Upon arrival around 9:30am we would have hoped for a little more friendliness.
We only received the statement the room can be moved into around 1:30pm. After such a long journey it would have been very nice if we had been offered something to drink, a briefing of the circumstances of the hotel and the nearby area - misrepresentation!!
We can still recommend Matala Bay with a clear conscience

Relaxing holidays
Matala Bay is a well located hotel within only 400 meters far from the beach and the center.
We had a renovated room , who was very nice. The breakfast is one of the greatest I ever had.
They also served delicious cocktails there.
Well done to all the team.
