Another fantastic holiday at Maleme Mare
We once again enjoyed 2 lovely weeks at Maleme Mare.
The hotel is located in quiet surroundings and the sea as a neighbour.
The staff are fantastic, the food good and the newly renovated rooms have become so beautiful. The beds are like a dream.
We miss everything about it and look forward to the trip there next year

Nice hotel, although not really 4 star in our opinion.
We had an overall relaxing stay, with some clear positives but also a few areas that didn’t meet expectations for a four-star hotel. The pool area is a highlight—plenty of space and no issues getting sunbeds, which made it easy to unwind. The grounds are well kept and pleasant to walk around, and the reception team were excellent. One member of staff in particular was very friendly and went out of her way to help us find a doctor during our stay, which we really appreciated. The owner was also welcoming, if a little eccentric.
However, there were several drawbacks. While the hotel provides sunbeds on the beach, these come at an extra charge, which feels unnecessary given the overall price. The food was unfortunately average at best—often slow to be replenished, with little urgency from staff. Some of the core dishes felt low quality, with a lot of cheaper cuts of meat, and the soft drinks were particularly poor. This was disappointing and took away from the overall experience.
The gym was another letdown and one of the main reasons we choshotel. It feels like a collection of old or donated equipment rather than a proper facility. Thankfully, the beachfront location made it possible to get out for runs, although this was really only manageable in the mornings due to the heat.
We booked expecting a four-star standard, having stayed in several similar hotels across Greece, but this didn’t quite match that level. While we did enjoy a relaxing break, the food and facilities mean this would likely be a one-time visit for us, especially considering the price and expectations set by the rating and reviews.

Beautiful Hotel
We absolutely loved this hotel. Everywhere was so clean. We spent most of our time in the quieter pool. We had no problems getting sunbeds. Stavros and Sascha (the barman) were brilliant as was the lady on reception nothing was to much. We will definitely be back soon

Lovely staff but....
We visited in June/July 26. The staff are lovely but I'm not sure the hotel deserves it's star rating or it's Jet 2 rating.
Our room was an executive apartment. It was said to have a fully fitted kitchen and air-conditioning and looked very good and and quite upmarket in the brochure. It was very tired looking and where we expected a bit of luxury it was very basic. The kitchen had a coffee maker and sink but was definitely not fully equipped as there was no other equipment to be able to do any cooking of any description not even a knife or fork etc.
The air conditioning was only in the kitchen/living area and didn't cool the bedroom at all. The cleaning wasn't really cleaning - it was bed making and towel refresh.
The Jet 2 brochure describes various health and fitness options including air-conditioned gym and various classes including Yoga and aqua aerobics but these simply didn't exist.
The brochure also states the bar is open fora MINIMUM of 12 hours a day but it's actually open for a Maximum of 12 hours and closes completely at 10.30pm. As there are no real bars in Maleme your only option is to drink on your balcony or go to bed.
The food was adequate but quite repetitive. If you didn't get foor your meal as the restaurant opened you were very limited to what you could have as a lot of things didn't appear to be replenished.
The pool areas are very nice with lots of comfortable sunbeds. The hotel also has some not so comfortable sunbeds on the beach for €5 for 2 beds and a umbrella.
As I said initially all the staff are friendly amd helpful which is why I'm giving the review 4 stars instead of 3.
I know the hotel attracts a lot of repeat visitors and I think the staff are the main reason for this.

If you want calm, friendly, happy, clean, organised, a more relaxed holiday and on the beach front? then this holiday is for you.!
I am not surprised that this hotel gets the five star reviews it deserves. Such a beautiful hotel and area. The staff were all fantastic. Thank you once again for helping to make our daughter’s 16th birthday a special and memorable one. We enjoyed the food and drinks. There was Always sunbeds by the two pools. There is some entertainment. But we was not looking for a busy hotel so we was happy with the three nights of entertainment. We did 10 nights here and made lovely friends along the way. If you need more entertainment or food and drinks then you can catch a bus on the front and it will take you where you need. Also there are Plenty shops, restaurants and supermarkets near by the hotel. Took some Beautiful walks. 10/10 highly recommend.
