A very relaxing stay indeed!

We stayed for 2 weeks, hoping for a very relaxing break which is exactly what we got.The hotel is a good example of a 3 star traditional hotel. Rooms were very good and cleaned regulary. All the staff we met were very hard working and polite to deal with.Breakfast was very good with all the usual offerings with the very welcome addition different pastries/cakes/savoury items on a daily basis which made a nice change.Bean to cup coffee machine was also a bonus to use.
The resort itself is best described as peaceful but comes alive at night in the best way possible....no noisy sports bars or music just a collection of 7 or 8 places to eat,a mixture of old school taverna and some very nice restaurants serving classic greek food and some modern fusion food.We thought that overall the food offerings were very good value in 2026 and quality of meals were excellent...I ate my own body weight in some lovely seafood dishes! The atmoshopere was very relaxed and we really enjoyed seeing many of the local families enjoying the places around the square to catch up with family and friends.
The beach was clean and tidy...great value choice of sun beds etc which with either free( with purchase of drinks etc) or 5 Euro each but including a "free drink " so essentiallly free if you chose the best value drink. On a personal note we really enjoyed the lack of speedboat/jet ski/water rides, making for a very relaxing and peaceful time at the beach. Also nice to see the numerous working small fishing boats come and go from thee harbour.
There re no local buses, lots of people used taxis to get around,we chose to hire a car ( there are 2 hire shops just off the square )for 3 days and had a nice time visiting Molyvos,Petra and Annaxos to name a few . Fiast Panda cost 35 Euros per day.
Air con was included in the price of our stay which was good to know and we were very pleased with Bill in allowing us to keep our room 213 until 2pm on our final day, without any charge, which made for a relaxing time of packing and getting ready to leave for our transfer to the airport.

Holiday with partner

Quick check in, offered upgrade to the swim up pool rooms 50euro a night!
Comfortable room on first floor facing the road/ fields.
Nice and clean, daily cleaning service, cleaners off on Friday.
Comfy twin beds.
Towels could be whiter they were a bit grey.
Good walk in shower and toilet in one room, the basin was in the bedroom! Very bizarre and strange, I had to tip toe to reach the basin, towel rail too high, not keen on this set up, very odd.
Breakfast was the same every morning except for the cakes which were not appetising.
Never any fruit only sliced melon, all bananas had disappeared in a second!
Hit items, poached eggs, bacon, pieces of sausage, beans, sometime omelette pieces and scrambled eggs.
Staff shouting at another worker in front of guests, not very professional and very uncomfortable to hear.
Owner not very hospitable but reception and bar staff pleasant enough.
Every morning there was the sunbed wars! Some had towels on since 6am in the morning! There were notices saying they would take the towels off if no one was on the bed after an hour, this never happened, waste of time.
Not enough sunbeds, had to sit on chairs 3 mornings before some sunbeds were available.
In the last days my partner was down the pool 7.30am to make sure we had a bed.
This is not acceptable for a 3* hotel and it was only beginning of June.
BBQ evening was disappointing, 20euro pp, grilled meat was boring, no seasoning or herbs etc. Salads were stodgy. No reception drink.
Advertised Greek dancers from mainland Greece, but they were all retired guests dancing, no live music only music from a laptop.
We left before the dessert, but I heard the puddings disappeared in a flash, none left for everyone.
Waste of money.
Not a typical Greek evening with smashing plates etc.

Dear Avsidolfor,
We would like to thank you for your comments, and we do have some answers that should be given.
We also have rooms where the basin is in the bathroom. If you did not like the set up you could ask for a room change, and we could help you.
Hospitable owner: Probably when something has not satisfied you, the owner also has a fault.
It is a fact that I am awake from 6 am, and I can see what is happening with the towels. We also remove some towels when the guests did not be there guarding their sunbed. I have personally double-checked some times (not every day) if a layed towel is on a sunbed with a person next to it. But I am not a policeman.
The hotel has 74 sunbeds for 100 guests (34 in the swim-up rooms)
In Greece we serve the traditional fruits for breakfast and there are seasonal melon and watermelons.
I need to apologize for the BBQ, as the group that was arriving was meant to bring a small band and make a huge difference, but unfortunately, they let us down. For that BBQ we never promised dancers. We never do plates smashing. Smashing plates was a custom in Greece many years ago, but it was not acceptable to everyone, and it is not acceptable to me as a custom either. Many accidents have happened with cuts in legs and hands because of this.
If you see the cost difference between a holiday for a swim-up room and a standard room, you will see that we did offer a bargain just to make up for the cost of a vacant swim-up room.
I hope in your next visit -if you come again- our hotel will meet your standards.
kind regards

Excellent with a few little hitches.

Just come back from a fabulous week at Pasiphae hotel. The rooms are lovely and the bed was so comfortable, Just a short walk into the centre which is beautiful and lots of lovely bars and restaurants. Our favourite bar was Valeros, the cocktails are to die for. The breakfast at Pasiphae was wonderful, everything you could want and the pool was amazing and never felt cold.
On the downside, ladies, take a make up mirror as the mirror was above a work top, and if you are less than 6 foot tall you won't be able to see easily. No bathroom mirror or full length one either. There is no " shallow end" in swimming pool so if you are taking children , make sure they have life jackets or arm bands. Also , locals using the pool and taking up sunbeds so there were none left for new arrivals. There are no kettles in rooms but they are available at reception.
The pool toilets are absolutely awful, these definitely need a refurb, to expect people with late checkout to get changed in there is ridiculous, it's like a dungeon.
Parts of the hotel are dated , but all in all for the price we paid we were very happy.
The BBQ night ( Tues) is fab , not to be missed. Thankyou for a fab holiday xx

Dear Hayleyr178,
We want to thank you for your kind comments.
We are going to correct the mirror for the ladies in the room by installing a full body mirror on the wall of the room next year.
As for the dressing rooms in the swimming pool area, you are correct that it needs some updating, but we have also a complex of toilets/dressing rooms indoors. Bear in mind, though, that when there is a heavy usage it is impossible to keep it clean in the afternoon, as we have no housekeeping services in the evening.
We will be more than glad to meet you next year. Thank you for your preference.
kind regards

Overall hotel was nice

Location was great for walking to the village for restaurants beach and supermarkets. Being a solo traveller was an ideal area. My room has a very comfy bed and linen. The bathroom appeared to be newly renovated . Had a swim up room which was good. Not much privacy tho from the ones next to it. Room was very clean and towels and linen changed regularly.
Breakfast was sufficient. Would have liked to have seen some grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. Fried eggs would also have been nice. Lack of fruit was dissappinting. Only melon was served. Good selection of bread cereal and cake.
Only sat at main pool once as was difficult to get a sunbed. The bar was good and drinks reasonably priced. When I booked hotel the description was al a carte food in evening which appears not to be the case. Lunch menu was limited
There were house martin nests around the hotel which meant bird poo on side of pool and at times in the pool water and on chairs etc.
Good location but a bit isolated without a car

Dear Sharonlee2601,
We want to thank you for your kind comments about our hotel.
Regarding our breakfast service, since the Ukraine war, we have moved to poached eggs. If, though, you needed fried eggs, you could have asked for this to be prepared for you. It can happen without charge. Other items that involve a special way of cooking as desired are on charge.
Although Hotel Pasiphae is a 3-star hotel, we try to have a wide selection of fruits, like apples, pears, and bananas, in the early season when melons and watermelons are not produced yet. But we are in Greece, and the most traditional Greek fruits and locally grown are melon and watermelon. This is why we insist on having only those two fruits on the breakfast service.
The evening restaurant is open during the low season from the 18th of April till the 20th of May.
Unfortunately, the house martins have no manners in our hotel, and they give us a hard time with some guests. Skala Kallonis is a place in nature with a strong wildlife concerning birds etc.
Skala Kallonis is located in the geographical centre of the island of Lesvos, and with a half-hour drive you can go to all directions on the island.
Thank you for your preference.
kind regards
