Amazing hotel!

This hotel was a perfect place for me and my partner, the reception lady was AMAZING! so kind and helpful, she was the sweetest.
Food was great (pool bar) and great price. The rooms were spotless and a cleaner came in almost every day!
in a great area too with the beach 3 minutes from the hotel and amazing restaurants along the beach to go to.
All staff were amazing wish we could stay longer!!

Quiet friendly small clean hotel. Enjoyed our stay here.

Nice quiet hotel, peaceful atmosphere but quite remote. Tavronitis is a small village, has a beach but we didn’t like it, coarse sand, suddenly goes deep when entering the sea. Hotel has nice pool and loungers. Bar in the daytime. Friendly helpful staff. Towels & sheets are changed regularly and the whole hotel and pool area are very clean. Our standard room was fine, comfortable bed, kitchen is tiny set into a cupboard with 2 electric rings, no oven, but has a sink, fridge & cooking utensils. Has a safe in the room. Continental Breakfast is brought to the room, eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. I need Gluten Free so I informed the hotel beforehand and was assured my breakfast would be catered for. It was fairly ok with egg, ham, cheese, yoghurt, (awful GF bread), but I wasn’t provided with any GF cereal, GF pastries or GF croissants, so breakfast became rather boring for 12 days. There’s only one taverna not too far away which had absolutely no idea about Gluten Free food, I had some lamb but it was really dire so we didn’t go back. No supermarkets near. Second day we hired a car for the entire time which is definitely essential if you stay here. There is a bus stop fairly near at the end of the road. Found decent supermarkets and a few very nice restaurants that we went to several times, they had good GF options. We really loved Crete and visited Balos by boat and drove to Elafonissi beach which were absolutely spectacular. White sand, turquoise crystal waters with lagoons. We thought Elafonisi was on a par with the beaches of the Maldives. Falassarna beach is also beautiful, you need to get to all these beaches early by about 10.30 at the latest, even in September if you want sunbeds & parasol. Cost of hire is around €20 for 2 sun beds & parasol. Chania harbour was so lovely with small walkways, lovely shops and cafes/restaurants with a great vibe. Nightmare traffic in Chania though and difficult to park in the roads, it’s so busy, we eventually found a supermarket car park but SO EXPENSIVE- €16 for 5hrs. We will definitely go back to Crete but we will stay somewhere which is more accessible to facilities etc. There are bus stops along the coast roads to various places but we didn’t use them.

Bad Service

Booked on Booking with great expectations given the reviews, it turned out to be a real disappointment.
Hotel immersed in nothingness, like an old B&B.
Inconceivable to find the plastic curtain in the shower and the mirrors eroded by the water. A grey water leak under the toilet cup has not been repaired in five days, because there is no internal maintainer. Non-existent essential hotel services: One person takes care of breakfast, checking problems inside the rooms and reception. Attention right at the reception. It is unacceptable for a 3-star hotel to have a reception open from 9:00 to 17:00 and check-in available only from 14:00 to 17:00. If you arrive outside these hours you will find the reception closed and you will be forced to call a mobile phone. Too bad, however, that this after-hours Service costs €30 and is not communicated well in advance, especially in official communications on Booking. I arrived at 18:30 and having to drive I didn’t have the chance to check my email; at 18:10 they had sent me an email with instructions to enter but when I read it I had already collected the keys for a fee. Mind you, the €30 was claimed for each room, despite there was only one booking of two rooms. So the cost is veiledly a punishment for delay, rather than a Service charge. I could have accepted it if I had arrived late at night, but in a seaside resort, in the middle of summer, at 6:30 pm it is really a theft; as if it were a pension for the elderly.
Booking’s assistance also proved a failure as it ignored my complaint.

Charming Theros Hotel

We visited the Theros Hotel in July 2024 with family. The hotel is charming, very peaceful and ideal for a relaxing pool/beach holiday.
The hotel is small, approx 13 bedrooms. The facilities are all very clean and well maintained. On arrival we were greeted by the hotel manager who was very welcoming, knowledgeable about the local area and spoke very good English.
The bedrooms were spacious, modern and clean. Very comfy beds. The housekeeping was done daily and sheets and towels changed every few days. The housekeeper worked very hard each day.
There is a small kitchenette area, ok for basic food prep, good fridge.
The pool area is lovely, so peaceful. No rush for loungers and often had the area to ourselves. The pool temperature was so nice!
There are a few tavernas and a supermarket within 10 min walk, the bus stop is 5 mins walk and services the local area. A hire would probably be an advantage to see the wider area. There are 2 beach tavernas close-by, worth a visit, lovely at sunset.
Kissamos beach worth a visit and easy by bus.
The hotel has a small bar area for drinks, snacks etc..the food was good and nice ice creams. The bar closes at 5pm so worth bringing water with you on check-in.
Overall, a great hotel for a quiet, peaceful holiday.
